Georg Jensen is looking for a dedicated and ambitious Purchasing Manager for the procurement of indirect materials, including point-of-sale and shop-in-shop materials. The Purchasing Manager position will furthermore assist in the procurement of selected direct materials sourced in Europe. The scope of the position includes managing our current supplier base, while also finding and developing new suppliers. You will also optimize purchases in line with the group’s strategic plan in close cooperation with the product development and the marketing department.
You will report directly to the COO. The Operation group consists of the S&OP and CSR/QA teams at HQ, a direct sourcing office in China, and own production in Frederiksberg, Thailand and Hjørring – with more than 650 dedicated colleagues. This position is placed in our beautiful HQ in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.
Georg Jensen has a strong position in both the Jewellery market and in the premium home decoration market with distribution through its own retail network, a strong E-Com channel and through external wholesalers. We strive to protect our strong brand position to ensure our customers continue to be inspired by Georg Jensen products.
The role
The position is a key part of our global Supply Chain team and the role will drive procurement efficiencies across functions and geographies. The team, which consists of the Purchasing Manager and a Procurement Analyst, is responsible for our Global Procurement Policy, including training and governance. The Purchasing Manager should be an expert at constructive engagement with internal and external stakeholders and have a passion for delivering results and drive change.
The criteria for success in this position will be to ensure a high level of control of our Indirect Spend by monitoring the compliance with Procurement Policies and Processes and delivering significant savings across multiple spend categories.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years’ experience within Strategic Procurement, with exposure to both direct and indirect categories. The preferred educational background is either in University or Business School.

- Cooperation with internal colleagues and stakeholders in developing and optimizing the total value chain of Georg Jensen
- Manage and develop supply agreements with current and new suppliers
- Develop and present analysis based on cost/benefit calculations
- Based on approved changes, realize the shown benefits into real value improvements
- Manage relevant data in our ERP system
- Own the Global Procurement Process
Your Profile:
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years’ experience within Strategic Procurement, with exposure to both direct and indirect categories. The preferred educational background is either in University or Business School.
The ideal candidate has the following competences:
- Experience in managing complex procurement projects
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Demonstrated people management and development skills
- Strong knowledge of key procurement tools and processes
- Daily user of ERP systems and preferably knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AS 2012
- Hands-on type of person, who strives for constant improvement
- Passionate about adding value to the business
- Strong team player with a service minded attitude as well as being able to work independently in own area of responsibilities
- Networker, with strong stakeholder management skills
- High proficiency in English and Danish with strong communication skills
