As part of DSV Insurance, the mission of the Marine Insurance team is to support the business with comprehensive insurance solutions taking both legal and commercial perspectives into consideration in order to protect the DSV Panalpina Group as well as our customers’ goods while in our custody during global road, air and sea transport and warehouse storage.
With its recent acquisition of Panalpina, DSV Panalpina has grown significantly in size and strengthened our lead position in the global logistics arena. This poses new and exciting challenges for the Marine Insurance team to deliver high-quality insurance solutions that match the complexity of our organisation and global customers.

In your new position, you will join 4 experienced logistic professionals within underwriting and claims handling at our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, a legal logistic specialist based in Austria and a supporting team of 8 claims handlers based in Warsaw. Besides your daily tasks related to underwriting and claims, one of your key goals will be to work with Stine, your new manager, on initiating and executing new development projects within logistics risk management. Projects that aim to streamline and optimise processes, monthly claims reporting, systems and insurance solutions to match our new organisational reality.

Projects that aim to streamline and optimise processes, monthly claims reporting, systems and insurance solutions to match our new organisational reality.
Your tasks will be to:
- Structure and identify risk exposures in complex global customer contracts with regards to the Freight Forwarders Liability Insurance and participate in contract negotiations with customers
- Examine and evaluate complex transport liability claims and coordinate between our suppliers, customers and insurance companies
- Initiate and manage new development projects – e.g. to implement new contract management systems or processes as well as trainings and newsletters within insurance
- Ensure continuous risk management across our global activities and identify exposures
- Underwrite and develop new cargo insurance solutions to DSV Panalpina’s customers
- Be responsible for administering our Global Charterers Liability Insurance Programme
- Provide professional guidance to our stakeholders across the DSV Panalpina Air, Sea, Road and Warehouse divisions on insurance matters
- Assist and supervise our claims teams in the DSV Panalpina claims handling centres in Poland and Manila
Ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit with a background in law or insurance
Whether you have graduated recently, or you have years of experience, you are interested in specialising within the highly complex field of logistics insurance and build yourself a global career within DSV Panalpina. Moreover, you:
- Have a personal drive and a commercial understanding and are very ambitious and ready to walk the extra mile to achieve your goals
- Have a law or a cand.merc.jur. degree – alternatively, you have a background as an insurance broker or trainee
- Are highly analytical and process-oriented and can apply a commercial perspective to make sound decisions from a business point of view
- Have the project management skills and proactive approach it takes to drive new initiatives forward
- Have solid stakeholder management skills, so you can communicate with colleagues, partners and customers from around the globe
- Thrive in the role of a decision-maker where you will not be able to meet everyone’s needs, but you will stand up as a prudent ambassador for the overall DSV Panalpina Group
- Communicate effortlessly in English
