As part of DSV Insurance, the mission of the Marine Insurance team is to support the business with comprehensive insurance solutions taking both legal and commercial perspectives into consideration in order to protect the DSV Panalpina Group as well as our customers’ goods while in our custody during global road, air and sea transport and warehouse storage.
With its recent acquisition of Panalpina, DSV Panalpina has grown significantly in size and strengthened our lead position in the global logistics arena. This poses new and exciting challenges for the Marine Insurance team to deliver high-quality insurance solutions that match the complexity of our organisation and global customers.

In your new position, you will join 6 experienced insurance and logistic professionals within underwriting and claims handling at our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, a legal logistic specialist based in Austria and a supporting team of 8 claims handlers based in Warsaw. Besides your daily tasks related to cargo insurance underwriting and claims, one of your key goals will be to work on initiating and executing new development projects within logistics risk management together with Stine, your new manager, and the team. Projects that aim to streamline and optimise cargo insurance products, processes, monthly claims reporting, systems and insurance solutions to match our new organisational reality.

In your new position, you will join 6 experienced insurance and logistic professionals within underwriting and claims handling at our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, a legal logistic specialist based in Austria and a supporting team of 8 claims handlers based in Warsaw. Besides your daily tasks related to cargo insurance underwriting and claims, one of your key goals will be to work on initiating and executing new development projects within logistics risk management together with Stine, your new manager, and the team. Projects that aim to streamline and optimise cargo insurance products, processes, monthly claims reporting, systems and insurance solutions to match our new organisational reality.
Your tasks will be to:
- Underwrite and develop new cargo insurance solutions to DSV Panalpina’s customers
- Examine and evaluate complex transport cargo claims and coordinate between our suppliers, customers and insurance companies
- Prepare the monthly cargo claims review and reporting
- Initiate and manage new development projects – e.g. to implement new framework solutions for cargo insurance, review and structuring underwriting and claims handling processes as well as internal trainings and newsletters within insurance
- Ensure continuous risk management across our global activities and identify exposures
- Establish a solid relationship and corporation with our reinsurer around cargo insurance solutions
- Establish a solid relationship and provide professional guidance to our stakeholders across the DSV Panalpina Air, Sea, Road and Solutions divisions on insurance matters
- Support your colleagues with identification of risk exposures in complex global customer contracts with regards to the Freight Forwarders Liability Insurance and participate in contract negotiations with customers and internal stakeholders
- Assist and supervise our claims teams in the DSV Panalpina claims handling centres in Poland and Manila
Ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit with a background in insurance or commercial law
Whether you have graduated recently, or you have years of experience, you are interested in specialising within the highly complex field of logistics insurance and build yourself a global career within DSV Panalpina.
Moreover, you:
- Have a personal drive and a commercial understanding and are very ambitious and ready to walk the extra mile to achieve your goals
- Have a background in insurance e.g. broker, underwriter or claims handler or you hold a commercial law or cand.merc.jur. degree
- Are highly analytical and process-oriented and can apply a commercial perspective to make sound decisions from a business point of view
- Have strong communication skills and you have the ability to empower yourself in a simple and clear way whether it be verbally or in written
- Have the project management skills and proactive approach it takes to drive new initiatives forward
- Ability to demonstrate stakeholder management skills, so you can corporate and driv processes with colleagues, partners and customers from around the globe
- Thrive in the role of a decision-maker where you will not be able to meet everyone’s needs, but you will stand up as a prudent ambassador for the overall DSV Panalpina Group
- Communicate effortlessly in Danish and English
