At IKEA we believe that business and people go hand in hand. Consequently, we are now looking for aspiring leaders for our ambitious Leader Trainee programme. We are looking for people who sees opportunities and are motivated to learn how to become successful future leaders. You also understand how to build relationships, create trust and are eager to support and develop people around you.
To be successful in the role, we expect that you:
• Are passionate about leadership and have experience in leading others e.g. from work, sports, associations, volunteering
• Naturally take initiative and seek to reach results when it comes to both business and people
• Communicate clearly in English – both orally and written
• Have an interest in retail/home furnishing and it is an advantage if you have experience from retail or from a large sized organization
A day in your life with us
Throughout the Leader Trainee programme you will be assigned to a specific department in logistics. Together with and supported by your leader, you will develop your leadership capabilities to be able to give and take responsibility. We believe in “on-the-job” training which means that most of your learnings at IKEA will happen together with your co-workers in running business on the floor. Here you will be involved in your leader’s every-day work and you will gain skills in how to run a department with a million-kr. turnover and between 10-20 employees.
From both on-the-job training and through special designed courses in the programme you will learn about:
• Your own leadership style, leading yourself, leading others and leadership at IKEA
• How to coach others and conduct e.g. development talks and salary appraisals
• Retail foundation and Market approach
• Recruitment, people planning and budgeting.

FURTHER INFORMATION
• The position is on 37 hours per week on an individual contract
• You will become part of a specific team, either morning shifts (6:30AM-14:30PM) or evening shifts (14:30-22:30). We work every second weekend, both Saturday and Sunday
• Salary within IKEA’s salary policy
• We have several benefits such as: Pension, health insurance, massage, canteen, co-worker discount, discounts through LogBuy, bonus program etc.
