Are you keen on applied statistical research for longitudinal register and clinical data? Are you interested in developing and applying statistical methods for the demography of diabetes, prediction of diabetes complications and related tasks that aim to assist medical decision making? Then you might be the statistician we are looking for at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC) is looking for a statistician for the Clinical Epidemiological team in the department for Complications Research. The position is permanent and is to be filled as soon as possible. We are currently building up a long-term collaboration with the Section of Biostatistics at the University of Copenhagen and will consider applications for part-time career employment opportunities.
Work assignments The main tasks for the statistician are independent research tasks, predominantly within register research with a focus on the development, implementation, and application of statistical methods. Core elements of the statistical methodology of our applied research are methods for longitudinal data with time-to-event outcomes (survival analysis, demographic methods), and the development of medical risk prediction models.
A part of the position is supervision of junior colleagues and collaboration with other researchers in the department of Complications Research. Teaching is an opportunity, both internally and externally (University of Copenhagen).
You will be part of the Epidemiological team where we conduct epidemiological diabetes research based on registers and large population-based studies. We are a group of dedicated researchers, including statisticians, who work closely together and support each other in a work environment characterized by passion, commitment, ambition, trust, and respect.
We have a wide range of collaboration with partners both within the Clinical and Translational Research unit as well with the units for Prevention, Health Promotion and Community Care, the Education unit, and the Clinic at SDCC, but also externally with other hospitals and research institutions in the Copenhagen area, in Denmark and internationally.
It is possible to be part-time employed at the Section of Biostatistics at University of Copenhagen.
At SDCC we care about skills development of our employees and offer good opportunities to participate in conferences and continuing education.
Qualifications We are looking for a person with a strong mathematical statistical background.
Salary and terms of employment Employment is in accordance with the relevant union agreement with Danish Regions, with the possibility of negotiating additional supplements based on qualifications. The weekly working time is 37 hours. We have flexible hours.
Your application The application must contain: Motivation and professional background for applying for the position (max 1 page), CV and documentation for qualifications and training. We may ask for additional information and documentation.
The application deadline is September 12, 2024, and interviews will take place in the week after the application deadline.
Further questions If you want to know more about the position, do not hesitate to contact research manager Peter Rossing (phone: 30 91 33 83, email: [email protected]) or senior statistician Bendix Carstensen (phone: 30 91 29 61, email: [email protected]).
