The job:
We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Global Demand Planning team in this 6-month fixed-term contract.
As our Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all information related to inbound / outbound transport is correct and that SAP is correct with all available transport information / dates. The role will work with Planning, Distribution, Transportation and Order Fulfillment to ensure that all appropriate information is correct allowing accurate communication to our customers.
What will you do?
• Function as a liaison officer between distribution, EMEA Planning and transportation; ensuring timely departure of shipments and calling out when there are deviations according to planning.
• Work with 3rd party logistics provider (Distribution center) where needed to support accurate shipment information / container unloading planning.
• Be the point of contact for inbound shipment related issues / Challenges for customers and colleagues.
• Ensure performance of carrier is monitored and escalated where needed.
• Work with freight forwarders to ensure accurate container ETA’s are within our SAP system.
• Ensure all ASN information is provided in a timely manner to the planning / distribution teams to enable efficient unloading of products.
• Work with data analysts / IT to create EDI links as appropriate.
• Communication to customer care on lead times and order status (internal customer, external via customer service)
• Communication between regional hubs on status of internal shipments
Who we are looking for:
• Solid experience in Shipping / Transportation.
• Logistic understanding of inbound shipping / unloading flows.
• Good Language skills, English at negotiation level.
• Demonstrated expertise in ERP/MRP Planning systems, including all relevant parameters such as inventory controls, replenishment, warehouse management, with specific emphasis on SAP.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
• Solid understanding of concepts of inventory flow throughout the supply chain.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate critical information.
