Student Assistant, Offshore Wind

Do you want to start your career within the offshore wind industry? This is a great opportunity for doing so. European Energy is looking for a new student assistant for our Offshore Wind department, working from home in the area near Aalborg.

Your new team

The team consists of 10 colleagues in the headquarters in Søborg, Copenhagen. We work with the development of Offshore Wind Farms. We work closely with corporate partners such as Legal, Finance, and Asset Management, but also closely with external partners in the projects, external advisors, and subcontractors.

Kickstart your career

As Student Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Procurement, Offshore in all aspects of supplier relations and procurement when developing a project, in terms of how should it be built, which methods to use, identify potential contractors and suppliers, and engage in dialogue with them.

The scope includes Seabed investigation, UXO identification and removal, foundations, scour protection, Wind Turbines, offshore cables, and all installation equipment in terms of Jack-up vessels, cable-laying vessels, etc.

This will all end up in issuing a Request For Information (RFI) to various suppliers, based on the dialogue, evaluating their replies, and making a recommendation for which route to pursue and potential contract negotiation.

Your key day-to-day tasks will include

  • You will prepare tender materials
  • Support in negotiations
  • You will have regular dialogue with suppliers and contractors, such as WTG OEMs, vessel owners, foundations suppliers, etc.
  • You will participate in clarification meetings and furthermore negotiations
  • You will be screening proposals from suppliers

We imagine you have the following competencies

  • You are currently studying for a Bachelors in Technology Management or Marine Engineering.
  • You are fully proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • You have a strong technical understanding, preferably a mechanical or electrical background
  • You have solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.

As a person, you are strategic thinking and willing to learn. You have an interest in both the technical part of the job and, very importantly, also a commercial interest as it is a major part of succeeding in this role. You are people-oriented and can navigate among both internal and external stakeholders.

Workplace: From home in the area of Aalborg, and at one of our offices near Aalborg.

Travel: Some travel activities must be expected to HQ in Søborg, outside of Copenhagen, and also to suppliers and partners in Denmark and Europe

Hours: 10-20 hours per week with flexibility during exam periods
