As our new Senior Engineer Secondary Steel Design, you will be part of our global Offshore Wind Engineering department. You will join a team of highly talented and engaged engineers at the forefront of innovative and complex design techniques in steel and composite materials. As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will take on diverse tasks and responsibilities in international projects of varied complexity and scale, such as:With focus on large steel foundation structures for offshore wind turbines, Lead the delivery of steel design work packages of boat landings, work platforms, etc. for Concept Design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Designs, in collaboration with steel engineers and other relevant disciplinesManage works by steel engineers and CAD technicians to deliver high-quality design and documentation of structural components, reflecting both fabrication-friendliness and the latest state-of-the-art, while ensuring successful third-party certification and efficient follow-up during the fabrication and installation phasesCoordinate design works with the Project/Design Manager and other discipline Lead EngineersPerform analyses and optimisation of structural designs, followed by skilled examination of results and identification of the main design driversPresent design methods and results at client- and certifying agent meetings during both the design and certification processEnsure designs are optimised to fulfil the latest health and safety requirements accounting for the full life cycle of the structure from fabrication through operation to decommissioningEnsure designs consider all interfaces to external stakeholders such as WTG OEM, installation contractor, O&M contractor etc.Perform Quality Assurance of design and simulation models, as well as project documentationMentor junior engineers in the applied methods and processes to design both material-optimised and fabrication-friendly structuresContribute to Ramboll’s technical development in the field of structural steel designYour qualificationsMaster’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; preferably with a focus on the design of offshore structures or similar areas of studyDoctorate studies in a relevant field will be considered a plusTrack record applying understanding of structural engineering principles, design standard requirements and the fabrication / construction process to produce efficient designsVery good knowledge and understanding of 3D CAD and structural modelsExperience with coordinating designs with other disciplines and other stakeholders both in person and remotelyExperience with planning engineering tasks (calculations, quality assurance and reporting)Strong drive to excel in the structural steel design discipline, reflected in engagement and collaboration with others, as well as design works and deliverablesEffectively plan and prioritize multiple engineering tasks, while making independent decisions that promote / advance company goals and objectivesMotivated to learn and grow in an international and skilled team of structural engineers, as well as to seize any opportunity to exceed expectationsHigh integrity and team spirit, proactively engaging with others and offering support when requiredExcellent communication skills and proactive, analytical approach to assignmentsFluent in both written and spoken English when interfacing with various disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and virtuallyWelcome to our Energy division
