Take up the challenge as Senior Maritime Electrification Engineer in the Electrical and Automation department in our Copenhagen headquarters.
Electrification of our ships is an essential part of Maersk’s ambitious sustainability target and we are looked for a strong and visionary electrical engineer in our Fleet technology department that can accelerate the electrification of our fleet.
Fleet Technology is a specialized maritime engineering competence center responsible for ship design and supporting the Maersk Line fleet of more than 300 container vessels.
Fleet Technology delivers the complete project lifecycle for Newbuilding’s, Ship retrofit and conversions, Ship Recycling, technical innovation and a variety of other specialist technical services to the Maersk fleet.
An exciting role with the world’s largest Vessel operator where you will play a key role executing the strategy for electrification of our fleet.
You will be part of an organization that trusts their employees and give responsibility and freedom; an organization that wins by being brace and are open for collaborations.
You will be part of projects with a large variation in complexity and size, from small investigations to large fleet-wide retrofit projects impacting the way the fleet is operated.
You will be part of a dynamic and international organization with your Electrical colleagues located in Copenhagen covering across the technical disciplines of ship technology.
In this position there will be plenty of room for personal development and you will have an opportunity to develop your technical skills.
Senior Maritime Electrification Engineer is responsible for managing:
Fleet Electrification program execution in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
Newbuilding projects within Electrical, Automation, Navigation, advanced control engineering and communication discipline.
Electrical and automation retrofit projects as required, including defining scope, planning, execution and saving validation.
Drive the design and developments of future vessel electrical and automation systems.
Preparing and reviewing technical specification, drawings as well as being part of negotiations with Shipyards and Suppliers.
Participate in project commissioning as required to ensure performance according to specifications.
Electrical Engineers preferably Masters in Electrical Engineering with a passion for design and Engineering of electrical and automation systems onboard vessels.
You have 10+ years’ experience within design and system integration of Maritime Electrical power systems and in-depth understanding of:
• Diesel–Electric systems
• DC grids
• Smart/Microgrids with Batteries.
Knowledge of Solar power, Fuel cells, Flywheels, windmills/farms and Super Capacitors is an advantage.
You have an international mindset and shows the excitement to engage and deal with multiple stakeholders even in challenging situations.
You demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills.
High level of communication skills in English written and verbal, presentation and facilitation skills.
Preferably you have some experience as project manager as well as good understanding of business case development.
