As a Marine Operator you will be in charge of a small fleet of vessels, where your primary job is to serve our customer by ensuring that your vessels arrive on time at the lowest possible cost. The key to success in the job includes customer orientation, agility in your way of working and collaboration with key stakeholders.

Scheduling
Responsible for reviewing and verifying proforma schedules for sign off
Responsible for proactively reviewing proforma schedules in order to eliminate waste and inefficiencies and propose changes
Ensuring the scheduling systems are timely and correctly updated
Bunker consumption
Proactively review and challenge the bunker consumption of the vessels ensuring Sealand Maersk operates its fleet at the lowest possible consumption
Ensuring relevant systems do reflect the accurate bunker stock and consumption figure
Review and verify bunker consumption for financial
Communication
Liaise closely with Vessel Commands, Terminal operators and Port berth planning on all aspects of managing an assigned schedule / vessel / service
Liaise closely with Maersk Line on all issues pertaining to optimizing the daily operation of deployed tonnage
Ensuring all stakeholders are kept duly informed of possible operational constrains such as berth congestions, strike warnings, weather closures etc.
Performance Management
Monitor the reliability of the schedules
Monitor the development of bunker consumption
Proactively propose changes to services on basis of performance measures
General responsibilities
Take initiatives to decrease cost within scope of responsibility
Work group involvement, best practice sharing and optimization projects
Ad hoc tasks
2-5 years of experience from an Operations Department, preferably within the Shipping industry
The ideal candidate would have an owner’s mentality.
Understand network thinking and have a holistic approach to problem solving.
Good abilities in communication, and stakeholder management skills
Good verbal and written communication in English.
Analytical, innovative and service oriented
