For the offshore activities in FLC starting up late 2022/beginning 2023, we are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Crew Manager to build up a team for recruiting and managing offshore crew for the assigned vessels (multipurpose pontoon, spreader pontoon, protection layer pontoon, immersion pontoons and auxiliary equipment) for operation in the foreshore between Denmark and Germany.
The Crew Manager will be responsible for building up a crew pool and afterwards ensuring that all FLC vessels are always manned with competent crew while complying with Danish and German regulations and company procedures. You will be part of the FLC HR team consisting of 10 dedicated HR colleagues taking care of all HR related topics, including payroll. The crews are part of the FLC Marine Team, therefore there will be a continuous alignment between the Crew Manager and the Marine Team. You will report to the HR Manager.

Femern Link Contractors, FLC, is the joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the immersed tunnel, tunnel portals and ramps. Our joint venture consists of nine international construction companies with individual experience in large infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has the capacity to manage different priorities and is people oriented with at least 8 years of relevant work experience in the field of crewing operations. The right candidate holds a relevant educational background in Maritime Studies and/or HR Management. Furthermore, the candidate should possess the following qualifications:

- Build up a crewing team consisting of the Crew Manager and 1-2 fulltime Crew Coordinators who will deal with day-to-day operational matters regarding crew offshore.
- Recruitment of crew/workmen and ensure that all FLC vessels are manned as per requirement.
- Ensure smooth operation in accordance with STCW, MLC, etc.
- Build up efficient rotations considering local / international legislation and operational challenges.
- Drive regular process reviews and improvement in the crew operations process.
- Contribute as a high-performing manager of the crewing team responsible for carrying out assigned operational duties and tasks in the crewing function.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has the capacity to manage different priorities and is people oriented with at least 8 years of relevant work experience in the field of crewing operations. The right candidate holds a relevant educational background in Maritime Studies and/or HR Management. Furthermore, the candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Thorough local labor and immigration law knowledge for both German and Danish legislations, or at least knows where to find the correct info (local lawyers, local immigration firms, etc.).
- Clear understanding on how local unions or works councils work and has the right contacts and/or experience in dealing with local unions both for the German and Danish side of the project.
- Solid knowledge of maritime policies, rules and regulations both on a local and international level (e.g. ISM, MLC, CBA, STCW, POEA).
- Have solid knowledge of the international maritime industry.
- Understanding of internal and client training and other operational and documentary requirements.
- Experience in working with crew/workmen and knows how to manage them.
- Possess a ‘can do’ mentality and has the ability of building up a highly motivated team.
- Proactive and positive attitude, enthusiasm and ability to cooperate in an always open and constructive manner.
- Strong natural drive for results, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to cooperate and align with the FLC Marine Team, the HR team and the rest of the FLC organization.
