Therefore, we are currently looking for a Product Manager to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Team and Role

Product Management is a newly established department within R&D at TERMA, responsible for managing our diverse product portfolio across Space, Aero, Ground, and Maritime domains through our Radar & MDS product portfolios. Our Product Managers balance three critical focus areas: Strategic, Commercial, and Product. We work collaboratively to navigate through the various stages of the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of profitable and high-quality products that support TERMA’s growth journey.

The Product Management team is located in Lystrup & Søborg. You will be part of a brand new Multi Domain System (MDS) team, where your area of responsibility is Multi Domain Operation (MDO). This team will be based in Søborg, though we prioritize competencies and team synergy over specific locations. Our team is diverse, comprising different ages, genders, and professional backgrounds, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where each member's strengths are recognized and utilized. You will be part of a dynamic team with a shared purpose of delivering best-in-class products. Together with your colleagues in the Product Management (PRM) department, you will define and execute on the MDO portfolio strategy

Key responsibilities

The position requires that you are driven and inspired by creating new concepts and can turn these into products growing new and existing markets. You are able to identify new market trends and customer needs that you monetize through concrete solutions. Furthermore, you enjoy deepening into new domains yet is capable of conveying the information on a high level.

  • Execute on product strategies: Develop long-term product vision, direction, and roadmap for the Multi Domain Operations (MDO) business areas.
  • Build strong product roadmaps that support TERMA’s growth strategy and ensure alignment with stakeholders for portfolio investments.
  • Understand markets, customers, and competitors to prioritize portfolio investments.
  • Collaborate closely with strategic - and commercial-focused product managers
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders: Work closely with Customer Insight Strategy (CIS), Business Areas (BA), and R&D to gather input for the roadmap and ensure alignment and cohesive execution of product plans
  • Manage stakeholders, communicate vision and priorities, and gather market and customer feedback from the commercial departments.
  • Manage Product Lifecycle: Oversee products from concept to end-of-life, ensuring smooth transitions through each lifecycle phase.
  • Manage Profitability: Oversee product budgets and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery, monitoring product performance for profitability and ROI.
  • Lead Projects: Coordinate multiple projects to ensure timely completion, proactively addressing challenges to maintain project success.
  • Innovate and Improve: Seek opportunities for product innovation, staying updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Report and Document: Maintain documentation of product development, providing regular updates to VP of Product Management.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need strong foundational product management skills, including product strategy, development, launch, and lifecycle management. You should have experience in building complex enterprise software products, ideally within the defense industry, and transforming civil applications into defense solutions. Familiarity with AI, connectivity, and cybersecurity is advantageous. You should also possess excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and financial skills to make data-driven decisions.

Here’s what we’re looking for

  • Foundational Product Management Skills: End-to-end product lifecycle management, including defining services around products and building product roadmaps.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with defense technologies and systems, lifecycle management, and obsolescence procedures.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience in adapting to changing requirements and rapid prototyping, transitioning markets to scalable products.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding program budgets, cost analysis, ROI, and building business cases.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to collaborate across stakeholders and convey customer needs.
  • Leadership and Negotiation: Leading cross-functional teams and negotiating with contractors and government agencies.
  • Additional Competencies: Experience with SW frameworks, stakeholder management, analytical and financial skills, and end-to-end product management skills.

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have experience from within the defense industry, including knowledge on defense regulations and certifications. It is also a plus, if you have worked with transforming civil applications into defense.
