Our marketing data science team uses that data to better enable KAYAK to share our product with travellers around the globe- we want to enable everyone to be confident in travel planning.
momondo/KAYAK is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team. We are looking for a person that has strong mathematical capabilities (MSc in mathematics, statistics, or economics) and can apply advanced statistical analysis on huge data sets. You have used common tools like Python and have experience with building SQL queries. You are curious by nature and can explain complicated findings and are not afraid to propose changes to the existing.
This is a “full-stack” data science role. Our team's projects can draw from the following skill sets: assembling data sources from square one, parsing and cleaning data, mining for insights, building and improving models, designing and running experiments, presenting results and giving recommendations to stakeholders outside our team, and driving business decisions or technical changes to our product.
You will be a part of a team that includes data scientist, analyst etc. and work with global marketing and product teams located around the world.
You will be based in Copenhagen.

A sample of projects we work on:
- Optimizing budget allocation and investment strategies across channels and campaigns
- Forecasting KPIs using time series analysis techniques
- Develop scenarios and identify best opportunities for our global marketing efforts
- Analyze marketing effectiveness and performance across all channels and markets to optimize ROI
- Help marketers and developers to understand and act on user level insights
Skills
- Ability to write high quality code, especially in Python
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract a clear and concise story from the numbers
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills including asking the right questions to identify the root cause of an issue or causal relationship
- Extensive experience with SQL and database usage. Data manipulation and extraction should be a well-honed tool in your toolset
- Extensive experience with building mathematical models for real-world events/scenarios
- Loves problem-solving and developing creative, tailored approaches
- Great communication skills
- Willingness to take the initiative and ownership of projects from design to implementation
- Comfortable with English on Business level
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines
- High energy, strong work ethic, willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get to the results
- Flexibility, including ability to dive very deep into details of the data (e.g., to ensure data quality) but also ability to see the big picture and take smart shortcuts where appropriate
- 2+ years of industry experience in a related role
- Online marketing experience is a plus
