The Position In this role you will be responsible for leading and driving the development and expansion of short, medium and long-term Novo Nordisk (NN) market access strategies. You will lead the coordination of activities across the therapy area in the NWE-MS in close cooperation with Regional Market Access (MA), IO and Global MA teams. You will be the strategic sparring partner for the local MA Heads including leading the functional group, MA cross functional work in the NWE-MS team and development of the function. You will also monitor the MA and policy landscape in Europe and track the key MA activities in the NWE-MS and be representing the NWE-MS in the Regional MA leadership group. Your other responsibilities would include:
  • Lead and drive the development of mid/long term access strategy identifying opportunities for innovative access, reimbursement, and tender strategies.
  • Setting standards in Region North West Europe (NWE) and Global by challenging and contributing to the European External Affairs Leadership Team and/or Cross functional/therapy teams
  • Be a key strategic sparring partner to the MA heads in the local market, follow and track the execution of strategies and tactical plans across therapy areas.
  • Monitor the market access, public affairs, HTA and policy landscape in Europe and flag key risks and opportunities to key stakeholders (incl. manager and regional peers)
  • Drive & support and act as advisor to local payer research, payer advisory boards and similar in a timely and compliant manner to externally validate market access strategies and drug development input (e.g. PDP)
  • Qualifications We are looking for a strategic strong market access leader, curious and open minded with a keenness to consider diverse perspectives and try proactive and innovative ways of operating. In addition, you have experience in relevant key therapy areas and/or key strategic pipeline areas (Obesity, Oncology and/or Orphan drugs) as well as leadership in order to facilitate Market Access across countries. Moreover you meet the following criteria:
  • M.Sc or PhD degree within economics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy or similar
  • At least 7 years of experience in pharma market access from an affiliate and regional or headquarter role or from consultancy
  • Extensive industry experience in complex & sophisticated markets, including experience in a European arena
  • Experience in analysing complex issues, utilising strategic thinking and implementing tactical plans
  • Development of innovative, new ways of access strategies and reimbursement submissions to payers and HTA bodies.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management as well as interpersonal skills are required
  • Business acumen with the ability to anchor market access activities towards patient access and business goals
  • About the Department The fast-growing Business area North West Europe Mid-Size comprises of affiliates in Norway, Belgium/Luxembourg, Ireland, Finland, Portugal and Austria and employs around 500 employees. We are helping thousands of chronically ill patients with diabetes, obesity, haemophilia, growth disorder and hormone replacement needs and with great potential to help many more patients in the future. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the senior director of Obesity, External Affairs and Communications in the business area.
