Vice President Ozempic and Victoza Marketing

Would you like to lead the development and execution of the commercial strategy for largest brand in Novo Nordisk? Are you a strong leader with the ability to deliver results through others and proven ability to develop individuals? Then this might be the right challenge for you.

You will provide strong strategic leadership in a highly complex, rapidly changing, competitive market building alignment with multiple stakeholders across areas and ensuring robust, clear prioritization from multiple choices and options.

About the Department

In the Diabetes Commercial Unit, we are a passionate team helping 26+ million people with diabetes achieve better health through superior products and solutions.

The Global Diabetes Commercial Unit provides strategic leadership for all currently marketed Diabetes products worldwide, accounting for a substantial part of NovoNordisk sales, operating profit and growth.

The position

Your primary responsibility is to lead the cross-functional, cross-geographic development and execution of robust injectable GLP-1 portfolio strategy and world class commercial strategy for OZEMPIC. In addition, you also lead the commercial execution of the LOE strategy for VICTOZA.

With your stout communication skills, you engage with different regions, key markets, teams and various functions to ensure robust input and strong alignment to co-create the commercial strategy of the area. Subsequently, you are responsible for developing contingency plans, tracking strategy execution, and developing budget for all projects. This position provides an opportunity to be an important member of the senior leadership team and to ensure effective and timely engagement of senior stakeholders and executive management.

As the leader of a talented team, you share the vision and inspire the team to execute the strategic plans of the area. You achieve this by effectively delegating responsibilities within the team. In addition, you continuously evaluate the competencies, drive performance and successfully develop the area and the team. Your people skills along with your coaching skills support the area in talent development and successfully fine-tuning the team during uncertainty.

Qualifications

We expect you to be an experienced leader with at-least 15 years of bio/pharmaceutical experience combined with a minimum of 10 years Marketing, Sales or related experience. Your experience is backed by an academic degree just as it will be considered a plus if you hold a master’s degree in Business Administration. Key aspect is to have previous experience leading commercial teams at broad, global and/or regional and in-country, ideally with P&L accountability and a strong financial acumen. Diabetes experience is not required in this role but will be considered an advantage.

As a person, you possess the strong strategic thinking, judgment and influencing skills that enables you to be successful in this role. Likewise, your strong leadership skills, ability to set direction within the area and constructively resolve issues makes you an ideal candidate for the role. Your experience and knowledge of a broad base of external customers is an added advantage. Above all, you are comfortable working across regions, functions and key affiliates, facilitating delivery of key strategies. Finally, the ability to lead a team, creating a growth environment, and providing first class coaching and development will be essential.
