On behalf of Ballard Power Systems Europe, we’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to participate in this growth journey and make a mark on the company’s future development.

About Ballard Power Systems Europe

Ballard Power Systems Europe can trace its roots back to 2004 in Skive when what would later become Ballard Power Systems Europe was separated into a division of a local business specialising in energy-efficient quality products for heating, cooling and ventilation. In 2010, half of the company was acquired by Ballard Power Systems, a Canadian enterprise, which took over the rest of the business in 2016.

Ballard Power Systems Europe is an international organisation headquartered in Hobro. The headquarter employs approximately 170 highly committed people with 12 different national backgrounds. Do you have a broad professional foundation as Mechanical Engineer?

As Senior Mechanical Engineer at Ballard Power Systems Europe, you will become a part of a strong team consisting of five mechanical engineers placed in the Design Center at the headquarters in Hobro. With a strong theoretical background, you will support the department and work with continuous improvement activities, technology solution in simulation and testing activities on their different product segments. It is important you have experience with developing and optimizing through an agile work process in order to accommodate our customers safety and needs.

You will be working with:

  • Simulations of mechanical vibrations & FEM
  • Thermal and fluid dynamics calculations
  • Concept design, preliminary engineering
  • 3D-design, Solidworks
  • Mechanical design and engineering, initial development
  • System design and integration of FC module and complete systems
  • Initial design 3D CAD, prototypes
  • System integration involving cleaning up the design, assemble in modules, integration of different functions in the same unit or module and build in the complete system in cabinets or skids.
  • Design for Manufacturing: Assembly drawings, part drawings, part lists and DAX data entry

Who are you?

You have a background as Mechanical Engineer or similar. You have minimum 5-10 years of experience from working with process equipment design and installation.

  • You are used to working with advanced fluid mechanics and FEM simulation
  • You have experience working with the elements from Scrum and can optimize here from
  • You are fluent in English at a professional negotiating level
  • You are a team player with strong cross-organizational collaboration skills
  • You are dedicated, flexible and adaptable
  • You are quality conscious and methodical with a keen eye for detail
