Lyras A/S is a fast-growing Danish company located in Aalborg. At Lyras, we design and manufacture pasteurization UV-systems, also called Raslysation. The systems are used for the beverage and liquid food processing industry with a special focus on dairy products.
We are looking for an R&D Engineer, who will be responsible for Develop and maintaining fluid mechanical models using commercial CFD software, improving system on performance fluids of varying characteristics, through optimization of the system, cooling and liquid flow patterns.

Job description
As an R&D Engineer, it will be your task to develop innovative designs and come up with optimization solutions for existing product ranges. From the start you will be working side by side with colleagues, to gain the necessary knowledge about our equipment and technology. In the start-up phase of any project, the tasks will be planned with our CTO and in dialog with your colleagues, and then you will manage the tasks independently.
In the beginning you will be working side by side with colleagues, so you can gain knowledge about our equipment and technology. After a training period you will be managing the tasks independently.
We imagine that you have worked with development and have knowledge of Process equipment and have a great deal of technical understanding. We would also prefer that you have experience with the designing process equipment for the food industry.
Responsibilities:
We build and test all our products in Aalborg, so you have the ongoing opportunity to check your ideas and improve your work in continuous dialogue with your colleagues.
Qualifications
You have a good understanding of optical- and thermodynamic physics and basic experience in Solid Works or other tools like it.

- Work with continuous improvement and documentation of the performance of our designs with a focus on optical and fluid characteristics by a combination of practical testing and digital Multiphysics simulations
- Explain the function and performance of the equipment
- Responsible for the continuous improvement related to the ISO 9001 certification
- Validation of numerical models and documentation of performance improvements through appropriate experimental tests
We build and test all our products in Aalborg, so you have the ongoing opportunity to check your ideas and improve your work in continuous dialogue with your colleagues.
Qualifications
You have a good understanding of optical- and thermodynamic physics and basic experience in Solid Works or other tools like it.

- Have analytical skills and the ability to design a systematic optimization process
- Understand manufacturing processes
- Communicate well in English - both verbally and written
- Have a great drive and a strong urge to create results
- Are a team player who are loyal to agreements made between you and your colleagues
- Are curious and like to stay updated on technology within your field
