Power Solutions Applications, Controls & Electrical Converter Control Application
Converter Control Application is a key area in securing Vestas' leading position within sustainable energy in the future. We develop all converter control algorithms and application for all Vestas turbine family’s. The department is characterised by very skilled employees who consistently strive to balance the creativity with quality. Though our core knowledge, we provide best in class converter solutions meeting system, product and grid requirements.
Responsibilities
You will be part of the Converter Control development team, which lays out converter requirements, owns converter control design and performs control software development, test, and verification.

Power Solutions Applications, Controls & Electrical Converter Control Application

Responsibilities
You will be part of the Converter Control development team, which lays out converter requirements, owns converter control design and performs control software development, test, and verification.
Your responsibilities include:
- You will be engaged in projects developing new features and doing changes, improvements and updates to existing converter control software based on the feedback from the field (Vestas turbines in operation) and costumer requirements
- You will take ownership of the technical tasks/solutions in different projects and actively work with the rest of the converter control team and its stakeholders
- Drive projects and teams into new feature and improvements of existing products
Qualifications
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in Power Converter Industry
- Bachelor or Master of Engineering within Power or Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge and experience in Controls (such as Generator/motor control design and/or control design of grid connected converters). This includes modelling of dynamic systems for control analysis, designing of controllers, software implementation of controllers, and verification of controllers via simulations and test
- Experience with control of power electronics (such as PWM strategies for 3phase converters, sampling of PWM operated converters and control loops of 3 phase converters such as current control, dc voltage control, active and/or reactive power control)
- Experience with embedded control for power electronic conversion, development, and management of industrial software implementation
- Experience with grid connection of converters and compliance assessment regarding connection codes is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in defining functional specification, conduct system validation and prepare technical documentation

- Highly skilled in problem solving, analysis and debugging.
- Skilled in estimating tasks and communicating with Tech Leads and project managers
