In this newly established and challenging position, you will be an active contributor in the innovation team and participate in securing the future success of Ambu in the interest of our users.

You will be part of an effective innovation culture with a tradition for fast completion of projects, which means that there will be a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth. You will be a member of the Core Product Innovation team that focuses on products within Anesthesia, Neurology, Cardiology as well as Emergency Care & Training. Your focus will be on the electrode portfolio, i.e. the areas of Cardiology (ECG) and Neurology (EMG, EEG etc.). The position is new, so you will also be part of building up knowledge. Your workplace will be at Ambu’s headquarters in Ballerup.

Involved in all aspects of the innovation process
As R&D engineer, you will be part a vital part of running and driving product development projects within our electrode portfolio, together with our innovation colleagues in Penang. You will be involved in all aspects of the innovation process – from the conceptual design to the product validation. You will work closely with marketing and participate in the interaction with future users to optimize the current product portfolio and identify opportunities for new products. You will be responsible for the documentation throughout your work, working according to the principles of design control and our Product innovation process.

Your main responsibilities will be:
• Ensuring the that signal quality of the electrode portfolio continues to live up to the high standards of Ambu
• Concept development of ground-breaking products within the electrode portfolio
• Stakeholder management with customer and end-users and coordination across various in-house functions including, but not limited to, RA, QA, Clinical, Production, Procurement.

Your contact base will be broad, and you will have an interface with Ambu’s global organisation, all departments involved in product development projects and externally with users, knowledge centers and suppliers.

Your Qualifications
You have knowledge of developing medical devices and the design control process preferably within vital lifesign sensors. You have a strong technical foundation and interest, and you can understand technical implications of various options, also in relation to production. You work well in teams and can comply with tight deadlines while managing multiple assignments.

You hold a master’s degree in engineering, preferably within biomedical devices, health science, biotechnology or similar. We expect that you are specialized in signal processing and analysis of bioelectric potentials. You have strong knowledge in the interconnection between biosensor technology and signal acquisition. You should have knowledge about conductive properties in various materials. You have at least three years of relevant experience, preferably within medical device development or a PhD with relevant area of focus. Clinical experience will be a bonus.

You have a passion for new challenges. You have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You work in a structured and proactive way, but you are flexible and able to “think outside the box”.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration. Consequently, it is a requirement that you are fluent in English and that you are able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 30-40 days a year.
