Siemens Gamesa are looking for a highly motivated and committed Blade Unit Manager to join the Technology department within the Services Business unit. Siemens Gamesa is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind turbines, and this role represents an opportunity to take your career to the next level within our dynamic organization.
About the role
The Blade Unit has approximately 25 skilled technical experts within the field of wind turbine blades, including; composite materials and surface systems, structural analysis and validation, in-situ process and repair solution design and lightning protection. The Unit is organized in two teams, with engineers distributed over several locations and three countries.As Blade Unit Manager you will have the full responsibility of all employees and the line responsibility of all HR processes and administrative issues in the department. You will also have the technical authority for all unit specific processes (procedures, instructions etc.) needed to execute engineering activities worldwide. You will report to the Head of Wind Engineering.
You will head the strategic target setting and development plans for the employees and the department and the capability management and succession planning (Knowledge management).
An important part of the role will be stakeholder management and interaction with internal and external suppliers and resource assignments to projects and platforms as well as change management and continuous improvements to improve office performance.
About you
The ideal candidate is a strong and experienced manager with a relevant technical background within blades, composite materials or similar – you have a technical Engineering degree, M.Sc. with 6+ years of professional experience, including leadership experience. You will need to demonstrate a strategic outlook, an analytical mind-set and be able to generate and execute specific strategic tasks and actions.
You have working experience in a technical engineering organization doing product development/product support, preferably wind energy or aerospace and you have a successful track record with people management, management of managers and leadership strengthened by formal course learning.
Living and/or working experience from an intercultural environment would be a great asset in our very complex and diverse company
Building working relationships will come naturally to you and you are outgoing, determined and persistent with strong communication and collaboration skills. You are motivated by making things happen and at the same time shaping the strategy and direction of the future
