The Global Supplier Quality Steel Part Engineer for Offshore has the overall responsibility for qualifying suppliers and for securing that all qualified suppliers consistently meet Siemens Gamesa’s product requirements as well as corporate responsibilities. Aiming to strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to drive our supplier qualification/requalification activities as well as ensuring the proper implementation of our Zero Defect Culture at our suppliers and the successful implementation of the supplier quality strategy all across the Siemens Gamesa business.

About the role

  • You will be responsible for driving the qualification and re-qualification of new and current suppliers, in concordance with SWP internal procedures
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enable the development of suppliers, improving their competences as well as the overall quality performance
  • Ensuring that quality assurance plans are in place for all new product developments
  • Handling supplier related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Participating in interdisciplinary and cross-functional workgroups and projects acting as our SQ representative (e.g. Commodity team meetings and Product Development reviews)
  • Supporting the cross-regional alignment by regularly sharing lessons learned across the different Business Unit teams

About you

  • You have a technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Mechanical Engineering is preferred) and 3+ years of professional experience within supplier quality or quality in general, preferably from an international company
  • Auditing experience is mandatory and candidates with a Lead Auditor examination will be preferred
  • You have experience in welding, and you have a certification either as a Welding Specialist, International Welding Engineer (IWE) or similar
  • You hold experience from the steel industry and profound knowledge of the manufacturing related processes
  • You possess material sciences and related EN/ISO standard knowledge as well as a good EN/ISO understanding of drawings and specifications
  • Experience in the areas of supplier development, implementing and performing APQP and PPAP activities is desired. Furthermore, certification within Lean and/or Six Sigma will be perceived as an advantage
