Mechanical Engineer for System Design of Medical Devices

About the department
Device R&D, located in Hillerød, is an area within our Global R&D organisation responsible for development, design, functionality and regulatory approval of medical devices for self-treatment, supporting all business areas of Novo Nordisk. We have a long and outstanding track-record of developing the best, most innovative and widely used drug delivery devices in the world.
The Device development team is high performing and our aim is to develop innovative devices that add value to patients and Novo Nordisk. In other words, our obligation is to maximize the value of the current device portfolio within diabetes, growth disorder, haemophilia and new therapy areas. The project team members come from many different cultural backgrounds and the team is an interdisciplinary group of hardware, software and mechanical engineers. We come together in our focus on bringing new products to the market.
The Job
In this role, you will become a member of one or more project teams, working from the mid to the late phases of our device development pipeline. You will play a significant role in the mechanical component design and interface design between mechanical and electronical components, including tolerance stack-ups and material selection. The job will also include verification and validation activities - both in the lab and with end-users.
Together with your colleagues, you will drive system design by combining user insights, new innovations and regulatory requirements to advance the care of people living with chronical diseases. Your work may also involve product specification/requirement engineering and risk analysis. At all stages, you will document your work in line with pharmaceutical requirements.
Qualifications
You hold an academic degree within mechanical engineering. We imagine that you have worked with mechanical mechanism design and mechanical design of components including 3-dimensional computer modelling in CREO. Work experience within medical device development and experience with the design control process for medical devices will be considered an advantage.
As a person, you are comfortable with taking initiative and have a ‘can do’ mind-set. You thrive on making independent prioritizations and you like to demonstrate attention to detail. In addition, you are a strong team player, and you bring a good sense of humour to work even when under pressure.
Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential.
