Business Area (BA) Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like Solar and Batteries.

Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation and solar and batteries installations in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.

We are now looking for a Certification Engineer for our Business Area Wind. Are you interested in a job with a lot of potential, possibilities and responsibilities and be a part of a growing organization with special focus on Offshore Wind, you may be the person we are looking for.

Your job as Certification Engineer:

  • Manage project certification tasks as integrated part of offshore wind project teams;
  • Support product development projects in certification aspects (e.g. substations, foundation types);
  • Support project specific implementation of certification processes, aligned with BA Wind certification strategy and national regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure project certification requirements are represented in commercial agreements and contracts (e.g. access to documentation and sites, timelines, interfaces);
  • Conduct sourcing processes together with procurement department to contract required certification services, lead of technical and commercial negotiations with certification bodies;
  • Facilitate certification process and ensure deliverables from project / suppliers (documents, audits, inspections) are provided/aligned to/with certification body as well as results (reports, statements, certificates) are presented by certification body in due time and quality;
  • Coordinate document review process and interfaces during load iteration and foundation design processes between certification body, project team and suppliers;
  • Ensure type certificate is delivered in time and quality as well as properly implemented in the project certification process;
  • Handle reporting of certification work package and provide input to internal decision processes;
  • Take on technical matters in support of other work packages contribution to timely close out of certification related requirements;
  • Work alongside Certification Engineers across wind projects to harmonize way of working in field of certification and to utilization of best practice.

Your profile as a Certification Engineer:

  • University degree in Engineering or similar;
  • Knowledgeable about type and project certification in (offshore) wind projects, as well as related codes & standards (e.g. IEC 64100 and IECRE OD series, etc.);
  • Work experience in wind turbine type and/or project certification beneficial;
  • Knowledgeable about national (offshore) wind permitting regimes ;
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience within technical project management (preferably wind energy);
  • Proven project management skills and ability to handle “independent” contractor certification body;
  • Professional experience within technical project management;
  • Motivated to work in a multi-national project teams and the ability to build up strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in multicultural work environment;
  • Fluent in English, German and/or Danish language skills preferred.

Location:

The location of the position is either Hamburg or Kolding.
