We are looking for a Head of WTG Engineering – Offshore to work within our Business Area Wind, Offshore Engineering.
The Engineering department is the technical know-how centre within Business Area Wind, setting the standards and guidelines as well as being embedded within our projects, both through the development and implementation phase as well as in operations.
Leading the WTG Engineering Department in Offshore Engineering, the Manager is accountable for developing resources, processes and competencies for all WTG Engineering including Package and Product Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the WTG Engineering Department you will ensure the organizational development of our WTG Engineering enabling the organization to serve the full lifecycle and portfolio of wind farms with technical excellence:
• Managerial Responsible for the field of WTG Engineering including Package and Product Management
• Secures an innovative and entrepreneurial environment while balancing the risk associated, assures and maintains the needed competencies guided by the specialists in the team
• Responsible for Budgets and Costs in the department
• Ensures activities within the WTG Engineering competence areas are anchored with other relevant parts of BU Offshore Wind and the Business Area Wind
• Ensures the processes & tools needed in the area is developed
• Inspires others by representing the Engineering Management internally to team and externally to industry partners.
• Secure key technology documents are established, and kept updated
• Coach and Mentor the team across multiple Locations
• Support identification of development opportunities
Specific responsibilities in WTG Engineering:
• Manage the Team of 20+ individual Contributors, 4 Package and Product Managers and 2 Leaders.
• Actively promote the technical authority of Engineering in general and WTG Engineering specifically
• Ensure Budgets and Costs are managed within the area
• Some travel can be expected as the team is geographical spread in 3 locations in Northern Europe.
The role requires the following profile:
• You have an engineering university degree (M.Sc. or PhD) with a minimum of 15 years relevant work experience including experience as a manager
• Experienced in Leading Leaders and Individual Contributors
• You command English in both verbal and written form.
• You possess a positive mind-set, see opportunities with a “glass half full” approach to your work.
• You are a highly motivated and communicative with enthusiasm and can be a role model for our technical specialists.
• You are proven skilled in dealing with strategic, highly complex issues, problems and challenges and can transfer technical challenges into economic impact.
