Green Hydrogen Systems
Green Hydrogen Systems is undergoing rapid development and there is a need for additional ambitious and imaginative people. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the development department, where you, in corporation with process and electrical departments, will be involved in developing process technical solutions to their pressurized alkaline electrolysers from selections of components to dimensioning of piping systems to control of the electrolysis system and testing of it.
The positions require great professional knowledge and effective interaction with colleagues and Supply Chain. You will help develop and raise their mechanical competencies across the company and ensure a continued development of their leading technology.
Areas of responsibility
The Senior Mechanical Engineers are to ensure timely delivery of conceptual, definition and detailed design for development and platform modification designs to enhance production and improve safety and environmental performance.
Engineering solutions proposed must be economically and technically robust. Close liaison with production, engineering and local consultants will be required to provide a cost-effective service.
Specific work tasks:
You will personally work with or assist your team in:
- Preparation of requirements specification.
- Mechanical solutions like pipes for hydrogen, oxygen, water, lye, and cooling systems.
- Dimensioning of mechanical constructions and pipes in relation to strength and stress.
- Development of mechanical designs and innovative solutions.
- 3D modelling and 2D drawing in Solid Works as documentation.
- 3D layout of components in the electrolyser.
- Selection of mechanical components.
- Establishment of relevant production base for sourcing.
- Support sourcing regarding technical specifications.
- Support during prototype assembly.

Person profile
Your are either the experience technical designer or hold a degree at BSc or MSc level in mechanical engineering or similar with great interest in modelling and and technical engineering. You can demonstrate extensive and in-depth mechanical engineering experience from the manufacturing and process industry working with either frames, piping, vessels, scrubbers, or other similar pressure carrying equipment e.g., oil/gas/petrochemical, pharmaceutical, brewery industry or similar.
The specific knowledge stems from
- Experience with steel constructions, piping, pipe joints, valves, and pumps or other mechanical systems.
- Experience from HAZOP, HAZID and design reviews.
- Preferably experience with design, construction of ATEX approved equipment.
