Kolding
Vattenfall aims to be Fossil free within one generation. A significant part of that journey is to develop, build and run our Offshore Windfarms. With an increasing number of projects and a larger asset portfolio the engineering tasks are increasing steadily.
We are looking for Structural Engineers for our Design and Structural engineering department.
• Do you thrive in a true engineering environment with high technical focus and great ambitions?
• Will pursuing answers to complex technical questions motivate you?
• Are you ready for accelerated learning?
• Would you like to drive and develop industry leading design of offshore wind foundations?
Then this is a great opportunity for you.
The Civil and Structural department is the competence center for all topics related to WTG foundations. We hold the technical competences and are responsible for developing design from the concept phase to full detailed design. We provide design management and support of the manufacturing process for all our large scale offshore windfarm projects. Building on continuous improvement and innovative drive we set the standard for future wind foundations.
Your job
As our new Structural Engineer you will become a key member of our department Design and Structural Engineering, which is an integrated part of the Civil and Structures department. Your main responsibility will be focused around design of offshore wind foundations for specific projects and your tasks will include various design aspects of both well-known foundations, as well as new more novel foundation types. In addition you will also be engaged in development of in-house design tools and methodologies.
Main tasks includes:
• Perform detailed design of primary structures (e.g. monopiles and jackets) using inhouse software
• Execute detailed design and analysis of secondary foundation structures, e.g. flange connections, external and internal platforms, and access systems
• Perform detailed analytical and/or FE analyses
• Alignment with external and internal stakeholder including project management, CAD design, supply chain and installation logistics
• Deliver documentation and technical drawings for certification.
• Assure integration of Quality assurance in calculations and reports
• Engage in the development of the optimized future foundation structure
Your profile:
You have an innovative mind-set and can see yourself working in a department where we value entrepreneurship, the pragmatic approach and helpfulness in our daily work. You can work self-dependent while sharing and seeking knowledge in the team. You show initiative and have a flexible approach to your work. You possess good interpersonal skills and can communicate technical messages on a clear and constructive way both internally and to external partners. You thrive in an informal environment, where we often invent the process and tools. In addition, the following qualifications are important for this position:
• B.Sc or M.Sc degree in structural or mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience with offshore wind structural dynamics
• 2-5 years of experience within steel design
• Experience with norms and codes such as e.g. DNV, ISO, API and EC, Norsok
