The Power Buoy Venture, part of Maersk Supply Service, is looking to hire a Chartered electrical engineer for a high-profile sustainability-based venture, the Power Buoy.
This program aims to eliminate emissions from idling offshore vessels by developing a buoy that will act as both a safe mooring point and a clean electrical supply, as well as the world’s first large scale offshore charging facility.
We are looking for a professional with a robust knowledge and practical experience in managing electrical design, engineering, and integration/fabrication programs.
The electrical engineer must be able to work in ambiguous innovation settings, and to manage stakeholders from suppliers to customers to internal senior executives, and to lead the electrical line of the program from FEED/Detailed engineering through to procurement and installation and commissioning.
Primary responsibilities will be to select, vet, work with, and manage the supplier base in line with the program budget and timelines. Role specific requirements are:
In summary the electrical expert that has a solid knowledge and practical experience on managing electrical design, engineering, and fabrication programs.
Experience with innovative programs and ambiguous spaces would be preferred. We have a very tight timeline and need someone to grab this critical workstream by the scruff of the neck, engage with the market/suppliers, and lead it through to installation/testing.

- Chartered Engineer
- Senior Authorised Persons to 36kV
- Marine environment substation layout experience
- Specification development
- Data sheet production
- Fault calculation on MV/LV systems
- Earthing of marine systems specialist
- Management of electrical integrator in terms of
- Corrosion management experience
- Scada functional specification experience
- Frequency converter specification
- 3D model management
