Vestas Blade introduction Center (VBIC) VBIC Tooling Mould & Mechanical Engg.
VBIC Tooling is focused on manufacturing tools which are used as main tools or supporting tools in wind blade production. This is done through various steps which starts with a Process and Tool Requirement Specifications (PRS and TRS), design, prototype, validation Bill of Tools (BoT), Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT and SAT).
You will be a part of the of Mould & Mechanical Engineering department where we design wind blade plugs, moulds & jigs from blade geometry based on the TRS. Tools are more focused for the best quality of blades, shorter production cycles and maximum automation. Also, our engineers conduct inspections and validate the tools according to the specifications. You will be a part of highly motivated and skilled team consisting of 25 people.
We are looking for a new team member to take on the role as Assistant Lead Engineer in Mould Build.

Over time you will become and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on several technical areas as well as building professional competencies within own area.

Responsibilities
Overall, we strive to provide the most robust, reliable, efficient solutions with highest performance at the lowest cost. More specifically, your primary areas of responsibility will be:
- Developing designs and drawings from 3D input in Creo, Solid Works, CATIA of wind blade geometry to plug / mould tools based on specifications
- Timely completion of job and targets by managing efficient stakeholder relations with all internal and external parties involved
- Deliver mould frame structural calculations/ FEA and assist in developing/optimising designs and processes. Moreover, you should be able to generate solutions for design challenges
- Adherence to TRS, validation and all external standards as e.g. CE & UL standards etc.
- Conducting efficient FAT and SAT with internal and external stakeholders.
- Handling timely completion of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) / One Stop One Solution (OSOS) tasks
Over time you will become and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on several technical areas as well as building professional competencies within own area.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we expect that you:
- Hold an engineering degree, either on Bachelor or Master level
- Have experience and can show specific results from another manufacturing company. A minimum of two years.
- Have extensive knowledge of design, prototyping and FEA calculations
- Have strong documentation and specification skills
- Software skills like Solid Works, CAD, CATIA, ANSYS
- Have experienced from cost out or value engineering projects (preferred but not a must)
- Have experience in tooling design and calculation of wind blade mould (preferred but not a must)
