Manufacturing Blades Blade Launch & Execution Center Quality Blade Validation & Robustness

As an integrated partner in the Blades Organisation, the Blade Launch & Execution Center is structured and organised to ensure that all new products, related processes and tools are developed safely, with high quality at the right time in accordance with Vestas way to launch new Blades.
The Quality department consists of more than 40 employees, divided into a number of sub-departments, with a Manager for each sub-department. Most employees are in Lem, but also, we have employees placed in the UK and US. As Quality department we are covering a broader area - from validation of new processes; developing new measurement methods/tools; supporting & problem-solving for production in Lem and securing we have a solid Quality Management System fulfilling ISO 9001.
Blade Validation & Robustness team is responsible for validation of the design, process, and tools for manufacturing the blades of the wind turbine. The team is part of new product development projects representing the voice of the receiving factories and performing real-time validation. Our focus is to secure robustness in blade manufacturing with no probability of defects when introducing new blades.

Responsibilities

  • Validate product and process risks in new blade development projects and sign off Manufacturing baseline package in relations to quality, cost & time maturity
  • Support in manufacturing process robustness by identifying & controlling variation parameters including the incoming supplier items
  • Validate the CTQ by reviewing the design & process against capability
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpret data from the validation studies and confirm with requirement in validation report
  • Facilitate problem-solving to identify root cause and propose corrective actions
  • Validate BOM to reflect the actual consumption against the planned
  • Support tech transfer/ handover to the receiving factory with lessons learned

Qualifications

You hold a bachelor or master's degree in engineering, for example chemical engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar subjects. Combined with your educational background, you have +5 years’ experience in the field of composite engineering.
Furthermore, we favour if you have:

  • Experience from the wind turbine industry or similar relevant
  • Knowledge on NDT methods such as Thermography, Ultrasonic Testing
  • Experience with statistical data and tolerance analysis
  • Experience with application of FMEA, control plans, capability studies and MSA
  • Systematic problem-solving methodologies like 8D, Shainin tools, DOE, etc
  • Knowledge on APQP4wind and Six sigma methodology, for instance Green belt certified
  • Good communication skills in English, orally and written

Additional information

The primary work location is Lem St. (6940), Denmark.

You must expect up to 15-25 days of annual travel activity internationally.
