Product Development Engineer - Motor Mechanics
Are you a product development engineer within the mechanical area and have a wish to work with the design of motors and sub-system verification? And do you have an interest in optimizing the design? If yes, you might be the one we are looking for.
What is the job about?
As part of the performance unit “Domestic Building Services” we are developing and maintaining the different pump products for private homes, and we have the responsibility for the full value chain of our products. We are already today generating a substantial part of the turnover in Grundfos, and we have a wish to grow this even more by being able to support our customers even better.
The motors are highly integrated into our pumps and are essential for achieving our standards for high-performance quality pumps that are a cornerstone of the sustainability agenda of Grundfos. The motors are “wet runners” e.g. the rotating part and sliding bearings run in the pumped water giving a system with almost no limit in lifetime and special for our ALPHA and MAGNA pumps.
“Your biggest challenge will probably be to design solutions that meet both our high aspirations of product efficiency, cost, and quality,” Jørgen says.
Your team will have a key role in our product development as the motor and hydraulic development is the essential element of our pump. As part of the job you will:
Develop, optimize, and verify motor mechanics parts including system element integration.
Be involved in all phases of development from maturing new technologies, concept studies, final design, and maintenance related to motors in running production.
Work closely with motor simulation specialists, our advanced manufacturing function, and other specialist in order to optimize the design for performance, cost, quality, and producibility.
Have the opportunity to develop your own skills and dive into specialized areas of expertise.
Be located at our headquarter in Bjerringbro, Denmark close to production facilities.
What do you need to apply?
We imagine that you have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2-5 years minimum experience from a similar job.
Knowledge about integrated product development within a large organization.
Have experience with 3D CAD, V-model, and sub-system verification and knowledge about GPS.
Know about the development of wet runner motors, however, mechanical design skills and knowledge of the dynamics of rotating systems are more important.
Fluent in English and preferably in Danish.
“One of your most important qualities is your technical curiosity and your drive.” Jørgen says.
What’s in it for you?
What are your goals? Here at Grundfos it’s our mission to enable you to develop and fulfil your aspirations, both career and personal. We are guided by our six core values, and you’ll find that your fresh ideas will be welcomed and make a difference in everything from local to large-scale global projects. You’ll encounter colleagues from all over the world both as part of your daily work, supporting and all the while broadening each other’s cultural horizons.
In addition, your day-to-day benefits include:
Home office possibility (up to 2 days a week) and equipment; up to 3 days’ paid leave for volunteering.
Annual bonuses, parental support, internal well-being consultants and programs, engaging team buildings.
Diverse, inclusive environment with employee-led forums offering colleagues a safe place to connect and share openly.
Long-term career development with regular dialogue, as well as continuous learning and development opportunities.
