In this role, you will be working with engineers to find the best cloud-based solutions. You will be working with ensuring application performance, uptime and scale through cloud architecture. You will manage and ensure infrastructure and applications as well as best practices within security. Finally, you will be providing guidance, leadership and mentorship to software engineers and to the team in order to build cloud competencies.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS infrastructure, including large-scale data processing, streaming platforms, and APIs
* Be part of planning, defining requirements, development, testing cloud infrastructure and solutions.
* Help identify root causes for incidents, document and implement guardrails
* Educate and share knowledge with software engineers on new cloud-based initiatives
* Able to pinpoint future problems and prioritize accordingly before production downtime occurs
You will work agile in mixed software engineer and cloud engineer teams with tools like Gitlab, Jira, Confluence and Aha!
Professionally, you have an academic background in computer science or similar. You have at least 3 years of experience in designing, implementing, and building cloud solutions for a cloud provider. You have a proven track record of acquiring technical knowledge and communicating IT. Furthermore, you have experience working with cloud projects within the fields of operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization.
It is a plus if you have certifications or similar training on cloud service providers and production experience with Kubernetes and AWS services. Knowledge about infrastructure-as-code, APIs, REST and grpc as well as experience with Application and Platform Observability and telemetry is a plus, but not a requirement.
