The Shell, Webs and Components team is accountable for delivering qualified blade design and process elements. It is also responsible for the manufacturing process design and development for wind turbine blades. The team is made up of enthusiastic employees located in Lem in Denmark, Isle of Wight in UK and Porto in Portugal.

Vestas Power Solutions Blades Blades Module Shell, Webs and Components
As the new Process Functional Lead you will become a part of a team of engineers that are responsible for blade manufacturing process design and development. You will be accountable for all the process related activities within their function area.
Responsibilities
- Identify what your process function area needs to deliver to achieve optimum value chain and capture in roadmap and plans. Prioritise and deliver according to your roadmap/plans
- Communicate the strategy and maturity/readiness level for processes within your area
- Collaborate with other functional areas to develop and verify blade manufacturing concepts within design specifications. Prepare, evaluate, and implement methods, processes, and techniques to improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability of Vestas blades
- Ensure Quality. Be accountable for Process-FMEA, Standard Processes Specification, Process Requirement Specification and demonstrating process capability in your area
- Engineering Change Management. Case handle for changes related to the above topics and secure controlled implementation
- Guide and mentor engineers within the team to accomplish process deliverables
Qualifications
- You will hold a bachelor or masters degree in engineering or equivalent, coupled with practical knowledge of composite manufacturing
- Experience of winding, RTM moulding, component bonded assemblies and machining would be advantageous
- Minimum four years’ experience as a Design for Manufacturing or Process Development engineer, combined with Design for six sigma: green belt and CATIA V5 experience
- Experience with running optimization and process development projects in manufacturing environments, as well as solid background in Process-FMEA and control plans
- Good communication skills in English, orally and written
- Experience with NDT methods such as thermography, ultrasonic testing, X-ray or tomography
- Experience with experimental design, multi-variable data analysis, treatment of statistical data and tolerance analysis
