We are in the process of launching several large projects, which includes digital factories, and we are therefore looking for new colleagues with background and interest within automation and master batch recipe design using ABB 800xA.
The Process and Batch Automation team is a hybrid team comprising two teams of experts from the Process Automation and Manufacturing IT department. The Process and Batch Automation teams work together to translate process requirements into utility, Clean-in-place (CIP), and product manufacturing recipes (Master Batch Records (MBR)) for batch-based manufacturing process for Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. We are skilled in a broad range of process areas within API production e.g., fermentation, recovery and purification, utility, and cleaning systems. We work on greenfield and brownfields project. We have established our own training academy tailored to our project needs.

How you might spend your days
As a Process and Batch Automation Engineer , you’ll be working with a diverse team where you’ll be:
- leading or supporting of designing, developing, implementing of master batch records (e.g Clean-in-place (CIP) product manufacturing) using ABB 800xA Batch Management
- leading or supporting of designing, developing, implementing, and supporting Distributed Control System (DCS) using ABB 800xA control system
- leading or supporting of integration of ABB 800xA Batch Management with Werum PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- interacting with process experts and colleagues with expertise in surrounding systems and equipment such e.g. AVEVA PI System historian systems, instruments, production equipment etc.
- developing and optimizing automation methods and strategies to meet our customers’ challenges and sharing state-of-the-art knowledge with colleagues and partners

The miles you’ve walked
In all positions there are some things that are needed, and others a bonus. We believe these qualifications are needed for you to do well in this role:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering or related life science engineering.
- 2+ years of Recipe development experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Life Sciences industries using e.g. ABB 800xA Batch Management, DeltaV, or PAS-X.
- 2+ years of ABB System 800xA or SattLine DCS Application development experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Life Sciences industries
- Knowledge and application of cGMP manufacturing and regulatory regulations and requirements for biologics/pharmaceuticals
- Knowledge and application of ANS/ISA-88 (process control) standard
