In the Design & Usability Group, we are looking for a senior mechanical engineer, that gets a kick out of working with product development using cutting-edge facilities within prototyping, design facilities, reliability testing, tool manufacturing and production technologies with the goal to develop hearing instruments with a focus on hardware.

“No matter which of our four mechanical teams you join, you will do micro-mechanical development; you get to do concepts and design in CAD, make prototypes in our tool shop, simulate on models, and evaluate solutions with your colleagues. And of course, get to follow your project all the way to realization and production in Poland or overseas. We constantly have 8-10 projects in the pipeline at different stages and it leaves a lot of opportunity for each engineer to find a suitable task to dive into”, says your new manager, Bo Skjoldborg
You can dig deep and spare with people, but also get the big picture. That could mean to guide mechanical developers and support the planning of the daily project activities or plan and implement design work, specifications, design reviews and documentation.
As a senior mechanical engineer, you will also contribute to the competence development of our department.
That could be:
You can expect 5-20 travel days a year, visiting suppliers and our production site in Poland.

Here you will join 11 team members, where the focus is on connecting the dots between the electronics and mechanical interface of our products. Besides product development, a focus area of this team is good supplier corporation and best practice for externalized development of selected products.
“I think we are very dedicated to what we do – people are just super engaged and we have the numbers to prove it”, says Bo smiling, referring to the latest external engagement survey “it’s important that our colleagues come to work to make a difference – I think it shows. Many of our associates are also spending time together before or after work being active in one of our social – or fitness clubs. Did I say we have a fully equipped gym here to use for free?”.
Mechanics & Partners is a part of our Design & Usability group. We are around 80 engineers working with development of hearing solutions within the fields of Mechanics, Electro-Acoustics, and Usability. Our responsibility for design begins from the very early technology explorations to ramping up in mass production.
We seek to deliver an intuitive and seamless user experience and interact with internal and external stakeholders across Device SW and HW. In collaboration with the Electronics group, we develop the complete Hardware Platforms consisting of both mechanical and electronic parts.
“The group foremost focuses on mechanical part development, and we play an important part in the big picture, i.e. the finished product. We have all the competencies we need in house. It creates an atmosphere of transparency and accessibility as your colleague is never far away. If you need to clarify something before you go on with your own task – go and ask! The close corporation environment also enables each individual engineer to gain a profound understanding of how the “dots are connected” when developing high-end products” says Bo.
Mechanical engineer with a natural curiosity
You have a degree in mechanical engineering or similar, and already have some experience in the field.
Probably, you have experience in areas like:
We work with agile product development like Scrum and SAFe, so if you are not familiar with it already, you should have an interest to work in the agile framework.
“We constantly try to stay relevant as a house of developers. We therefore reserve time for honing existing and development of new skills - we regard competence development very important, not just to solve the challenges of today but preparing for tomorrow as well. An example could be our high focus on simulation as a supplement to physical tests, to enable faster learning cycles” says Bo.

- Maintain competence map and define direction for competence development

Mechanical engineer with a natural curiosity

- Mechanical development and design within medical- or small consumer electronic devices
- ME integration of electronics design (PCB, connectors, batteries, radios etc.)
- Robust design (Tolerance stack-up, Design For Manufacturing DFM, Design For Assembly DFA)
- PTC Creo 3D CAD, GPS and 2D specification
- Simulation
