Area of responsibilities and tasks
Through the regional office in the US, the agronomist will be responsible for developing and maintaining Nature Energy’s expertise on US agriculture and associated regulation and legislation. The agronomist will cooperate with the team in our office in the US and the relevant Danish departments. The agronomist will join a team of highly motivated and skilled people, located in the USA, France, Canada, Netherlands, and Denmark.
The farming community is an important co-operational partner for the company. Farmers are suppliers of livestock manure, i.e. slurry and bedding material, which constitutes an important part of the biomass supply needed for biogas production. At the same time, farmers are customers of Nature Energy due to their purchase of degassed biomass as an environmentally friendly fertilizer.
Job Duties
- Cooperation with the finance department for the development of economic models.
- Participate in the work with regulatory and legislative measures and participate in contact with authorities and branch organizations.
- Maintain specialized knowledge of local farm practices on the use of fertilizer and crop farming.
- Cooperation with the R&D department and dissemination of facts and benefits concerning fertilization with digestate.
- Cooperation with the R&D department on the development of new optimized fertilization methods
- Cooperation with Supply Chain on maintaining and developing optimal supply/return logistic solutions.
- Cooperation with Business Development for the development of new biogas plants and biomass contracts in the US
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The agronomist will have the responsibility for developing and maintaining Nature Energy’s cooperation and Relations with its partners in the agricultural business, both on a strategic and an operational level.
The agronomist will, in cooperation with the Farm Relations Manager, be responsible for the contractual relations with the agricultural partners and participate in negotiations for the supply of biomasses and the return of digitate-based fertilizers. The agronomist will thus be the focal point of contact in our US organization concerning the agricultural business.
The agronomist will cooperate with the Farm Relations Manager to ensure the development and maintenance of standardized contracts concerning the agricultural business.
The agronomist can manage multiple assignments concurrently and has the proven ability to produce top-quality work with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
The candidate has deep knowledge of the agro-environmental sector and especially the legislation concerning practical crop farming, and secondly, livestock production. A minimum of 3-5 years experience with crop farming advisory is assessed as being needed for the position.
The candidate is due to his/her education and experience knowledgeable in the field of fertilizers and crop farming including the handling of digestate. The candidate is used to conducting negotiations with farmers and can handle complex negotiation processes with several stakeholders. The candidate will, through credibility, preparation, and insight, create good negotiation results.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
The candidate will preferably also have insight into the biogas industry and related environmental issues.

Travel
This position requires regular travel to the headquarter in Denmark and sites in the US (Annually around 20-30 days).

Visiting and walking around sites/green fields.
Work Environment
Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. This job operates in a professional office environment.
