Domain architect for Data & Cloud domain

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, Poland, or Roskilde, Denmark, and you will join our Enablers and Platform Architecture team. The team oversee the overall architecture across becs many platforms, this include driving the platform target state and helping the domain to turn it into transitional steps. The team is the direct link between our strategy, our product visions and how we can achieve that, and is therefore a really important role in driving becs technical transformation as technology leaders.

The domain architect offers a great responsibility in supporting the technical direction for the Data & Cloud domain in bec, in close alignment with the Data & Cloud leadership. The domain architect adds value to the domain by providing communication, guidance, inspiration, and analysis on architectural aspects to the domain leadership and delivery organization.

The Data & Cloud domain is responsible for platforms, tools and governance related to BI, analytics, and data, including a transformation of these from on-premises to cloud. Furthermore, the domain also has the responsibility of building our MS Azure cloud platform in bec. The domain is undergoing a large transformation with a very high degree of complexity in lifting a BI platform to cloud, an existing platform with a lot of legacy, regulation and many becs users with different needs and requirements.

The Data & Cloud domain consists of almost 100 dedicated employees, distributed in 9 agile teams. The domain architect’s primary stakeholders will be the domain leadership, especially the development director and product manager.

At bec, we prefer to collaborate, and this is often done in the office. We can, however, work remotely up to eight days per month.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Description and visualization of AS-IS architecture for the domain, incl. a Netezza BI platform and BI platform in Azure Cloud
• Description and visualization of TO-BE (target state) architecture for the domain, incl. a transformation out of legacy BI system
• Description and visualization of roadmap options, risks, gains, pains, and opportunities
• Actively participation in the domain steering committee
• Guide customer facing domains in BI & cloud services
• Ensure help and support in architecture processes
• Participate in architectural collaboration cluster work with enterprise architects and other domain architects, having a room with architects to spare with and align, and solving tasks
• Be part of and support the domain leadership in the technical foundation for the business needs, and collaborate closely with the team architects in the domain
• As bec is operating in both Denmark and Poland, some occasionally travelling will be expected

To succeed you will have:

• Competences in BI, analytics, and data; ETL, data warehousing, frontend tools – such as IBM Netezza, Informatica PowerCenter, SAP Business Objects, SAS Analytics (incl. Viya), Azure Data Factory, MS Synapse, WhereScape, Power BI, Azure Cognitive Services
• Experience with cloud services, preferable in Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Knowledge about cloud native application architectures (including DevOps, CI/CD and Security)
• Strong and transparent communication about status and progress for the architectural transformation
• Curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others.

It’s nice-to-have:

• Preferable experience from organization with many regulatory requirements
• Certification as a professional architect for Microsoft Azure or similar certification
• Knowledge and understanding of microservices, containers, API reference architecture
