Pensions Consultant

This role supports the provision of accurate and effective Defined Benefit Pension reporting as well as monitoring and improving the governance of Defined Benefit pension schemes.

You'll find leaders who give you the freedom to explore new things and a team where knowledge is shared openly. •Lead projects to Review and strengthen Internal controls, governance and risk management of Pension schemes in Canon UK (CUK), Canon Ireland (CIE), Canon Europa NV (CENV) & Canon Netherlands (CNL).

•Support and develop local finance teams to improve the quality of quarterly and annual pension reporting

•Provide technical accounting support on DB pensions to CUK, CIE, CENV, and CNL.

•Support UK and Ireland with management of Defined Contributions pensions.

•Proactively monitor DB pension risk and make recommendations for its mitigation for in scope entities.

•Ensure cost effective and consistent actuarial support for financial reporting of DB pensions for in scope entities.

•Supplier management of Pension administrators and Pension advisors for in scope entities. .

•Develop training courses for roll out to DB/DC members across CUK/CEL/CIE.
•Quarterly checks on reporting package to CINC on pension disclosure under USGAAP

•Engage with WTW on the EMEA assumptions

•Engage with WTW on WTW EMEA pension reporting

•Support to answer questions from CINC or External Auditors on pension matters

•Review EMEA pension reporting ad hoc basis

•Support CENV pension committee with ongoing items and the new Legal Pension changes in Netherlands

•Support as agreed with targeted NSO’s to ensure the pension knowledge and accounting is at appropriate level to ensure complete and accurate pension accounting & reporting. In line with USGAAP

•Support for other pension projects as requested by Corporate Controller.

•Targeted project support as agreed with Corporate Controller with targeted NSO’s for a specific pension issue which could concern funding, structure of pension arrangements or possible de-risking strategies

What we ask

• Proven Consultant with in depth knowledge of international pensions and other savings vehicles.
• Fully Qualified Accountant or Equivalent Qualification eg. MBA, Masters Degree in Finance or Pensions, PMI Diploma in International Benefits
• Extensive knowledge of USGAAP DB pension reporting requirements,
• Practical experience of the Pension Regulatory regime in UK & Netherlands
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
