Maersk’s Group M&A Tax team is looking for an ambitious, top performing professional to join the high impact and high profile team responsible for the Tax execution of the Group’s Mergers and Acquisition projects and other ad-hoc tax projects.
A unique opportunity to join a dedicated team in a time of transition - and play a key role.
In this role you will be part of the core M&A Tax team, working with M&A and corporate finance in a truly global company.
You will be dealing with M&A and investment projects across the world in a number of different industries that the APMM Group operates in. Further the team deals with a number of ad-hoc projects not limited to tax.
This position will have exposure to senior stakeholders and expand your professional network across functions and geographies. We work closely with the Group´s M&A team, Legal M&A team and the financial communities in our different businesses.
You will join the Group Tax Department, which has colleagues located in Copenhagen and around the globe.

As tax manager you will act as a lead International and Danish tax expert for a wide array of tax issues that impacts a transaction.
Key tasks:
• Responsible for highly technical and complex tax strategies with a commercial mindset
• Provide technical tax analysis in restructuring
• Provide input to transaction documentation
• Effectively manage and communicate tax implications of various business changes and initiatives
• Collaborate with other functional tax groups, with other corporate functions (legal, corporate finance, accounting etc.) and commercial organization to provide an integrated approach to support business needs
• Take active role in the deals teams and take active role in negotiations.
We will expect you to keep yourself up to date with developments in tax and adjacent disciplines and participate in relevant courses and seminars.
You will also have the opportunity for professional development within the Maersk Group, through learning from specialist colleagues, participating in internal tax seminars and importantly on the job learning.
Travelling will be required, and may from time to time occur at short notice.
Much of our work is carried out in teams, and teamwork at Maersk is distinguished by mutual acceptance, respect, dedication, and the belief that we all have something to learn from our colleagues.

We are looking for a person with at least ten years of practical tax experience in a multinational corporation, global operations, public accounting firm or law firm.
You should be able to demonstrate profound understanding of accounting and financial issues.
Further, you hold a relevant academic degree, e.g. CPA, Cand.merc.aud, Cand.merc.jur., MTA or Tax Administration Exam.
You have good understanding of international and Danish tax rules and preferred knowledge of shipping taxation would be considered a plus
Extensive knowledge and experience in research and restructuring in Denmark and global taxation as well as experience in in M&A and deal-structuring, effective tax rate analysis and tax leakage analysis.
As a person you are disciplined and well-organized with a strong emphasis on getting things done timely and correctly.
You have a strategic, proactive and analytical mind-set, you are dedicated to developing high expertise within a given field and you have a good sense of humor.
In addition, you thrive in a fast paced and competitive environment with interaction with many stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.
Excellent written and spoken English is a must, while Danish is not a requirement.
