Are you interested in managing and steer Finance as well as HR teams in Denmark into the agreed level of employee compliance with respect to both employee tax/social security as well as the related employer obligation? If yes, then this position at Total in Copenhagen office might be your match!

Key Responsibilities
As Employee Tax Manager in the Tax team, you will be able to shape and develop a central role with great influence in managing Danish tax and social security compliance within employee tax in general. You will be part of a team currently responsible for some compliance processes such as employee share reporting, year-end-reporting to SKAT on compensation and benefits for expatriates and obtaining documentation on Danish social security for employees. This is with the possibility to continuously learn and develop your competencies when the team are involved in projects within both Finance and HR. You will get to use your knowledge and experience applying a range of techniques when responsible for improving and maintaining employee tax reporting processes.

Overall, you have the responsibility of managing Danish tax and social security compliance in general, e.g. day to day sparing with Finance, HR including payroll and Compensation & Benefits, including the Mobility team. Finally, you are responsible for extern stakeholder management with Deloitte, Alfa, Airswift etc.

These areas of responsibilities will include tasks such as:

Strategic employee tax

  • Sparring partner for Global Mobility in relation to implementation of policies
    • Advice on how new policies will impact the organization from an admin as well as a finance and compliance perspective

  • Stakeholder management
    • Negotiations with tax authorities
    • External advisors
      • Align and ensure that company’s risk appetite and compliance level is being respected



Employee tax
  • Tax compliance
    • Hiring out of labor
      • Work with Legal and Procurement to ensure correct contract templates contain the correct tax clauses
      • Ensure that the company are in compliance with the rules on hiring out of labor

    • Correct employee tax reporting
      • Work together with HR/payroll to ensure how to correctly report salaries, GIP, benefits in kind etc. for expats and local employees
      • Reporting of Total Capital Increase and performance share grant/vesting

    • Advising the company on Danish tax legislation applicable for expatriates assigned to Denmark with Total share plans (performance shares, Capital Increase etc.)

  • Manage manual tax and employee related payments as well as reimbursement from the Danish tax authorities
  • Responsible for updating the Business and relevant stakeholders on legislative initiatives

HR related employee tax
  • Payroll function as such
    • Support HR Shared Service to ensure that the Payroll function is supporting the business as needed and is compliant with Danish legislation
    • Monitor that the provider is delivering on their promises and that the SLA is reflecting the needed services

  • Social security project for business travelers
    • Managing process for application of A1s for employees having travel activities

  • Global Mobility
    • Strategic discussion of how to adopt Total principles from a Danish point of view
    • Advice on which tax principles to use, to ensure fairness on one side, but also cost optimization for the company
