Our mission in the Finance department is to provide highly professional support to the business, securing that we continue to be among the highest rated NGOs in the world. You will lead one of our two project finance teams and be a member of the management team in Finance together with 3 other managers and our CFO. The Finance Department is one of the four support functions in our headquarters. The department consists of around 45 talented and dedicated people who are responsible for DRCs financial affairs globally.

Driving change – leading professionals

Your main goal will be to ensure that you and your team helps to provide proactive financial support to app. 20 of our countries related to projects. You will do so by working together with your team, the management team in Finance, and business decision makers in International Operation. In the International Operation your main counter parts will be the Head of Division as well as the Regional Directors, and Heads of Support Services in the Regions. Here you will be advising on ongoing cases, future directions, process improvements and strategic choices within the area of finance.

DRC has gone live with our new ERP system (DRC Dynamics) in January 2019, and the implementation of this system will remain to have a strong focus across the entire organization throughout 2020. A major task in the position will be to ensure a continuos implementation of the system together with the rest of the management team in Finance, and to contribute to solutions and problem solving.

You will have direct line management of a team of 7 Business Controllers, 5 Accountants, and 1 Student Assistant. The team performs finance related tasks in relation to donor projects with a focus on both operating, monitoring and reporting tasks.

As Lead Finance Business Partner you will be reporting to the CFO. You will however also be working closely with the 3 other managers in the Finance Department. Especially you will need to plan and coordinate cross cutting issues closely with the Lead Business Partner for the other finance project team.

A motivating, highly skilled finance professional

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • At least five years' experience at management level within Finance, preferably as a Finance Business Partner in an international organization (e.g. in an INGO or an international commercial organization)
  • Well documented experience with financial risk management preferably also experience with institutional donors
  • University degree or equivalent within a relevant area
  • International experience from working abroad or in the field, preferably also experience with insecure environments/locations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, preferably also in Danish and/or French.

Your personal qualifications

  • Motivating and developing your team as well as providing sparring and acting with advice and guidance as needed. You are empathetic, but also have a natural authority and can lead and support your team in a busy environment
  • A high degree of analytical competencies, advisory capability and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to talk the language of the business by communicating financial thinking and terminology into business needs and language and vice versa
  • Understanding the importance of establishing close and trustful relationships with stakeholders on all levels of the organization
  • You are business minded and thrive with strategic and analytical tasks, taking the lead on optimizing processes and concepts.
  • You have a down to earth personality and possess integrity and credibility to inspire and lead others in developing their own high levels of integrity

We offer

Contract length: Open ended

Work place: Borgergade 10, in the center of Copenhagen, near the metro and public transportation.

Start date: 1st of December 2019 or as soon as possible.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and Lederaftalen between Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening og Lederne, which can be found here: www.lederne.dk.

Please note that you need to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) in order to be considered for this role. This is a national position on which local terms and conditions apply (relocation or housing allowance is not offered for this role).
