Patent Engineer - With solid experience or motivation to learn and specialize

AGCO innovation center in Randers, Denmark is searching for an electronics or systems engineer to provide technical support for the global intellectual property organization in AGCO in a new ‘Patent Engineer’ role that willfocus on electronics/software, including autonomy, automation and robotics. It involves working closely, mostly on-site, with the engineering team to harvest inventions and providing technical support to the team of patent attorneys in all aspects of IP creation, maintenance and enforcement, and in maintaining AGCO's freedom to operate.

Tasks & responsibilities

-As a member of the global IP Technical Support Team you are assisting internal and external patent attorneys

-Working closely with development groups within engineering to mine inventions and identify new product features that may need patent clearance

- Carrying out searches for the purposes of invalidating third-party patents, assessing patentability of AGCO invention disclosures, and for IP landscaping

- Monitoring patent activities of relevant competitors

- Administering and maintaining the database on third party IP rights

- Providing support for the preparation of patent applications (e.g., generating drawings) and during prosecution of those applications

- Supporting the periodic revaluing of patents to reduce costs and identify infringements

Competences and qualifications

You may independently prepare and provide patent searches which require analytical thinking and the consideration of multiple source.

You may already have experience working with patents or motivation to learn and specialize. We will support the right candidate, with relevant education.

You have competencies within one or several of the following areas:

- Bachelor or Master Degree in electronics or systems engineering.

- Experience in technical patent research and patent databases such as PATBASE

- Good knowledge of intellectual property rights

- Very good comprehension skills, systematic way of thinking and working

- Confident and self-assured appearance and very good communication skills in English; knowledge of German and other languages is desirable - Strong interest in Agriculture
