Science Director

Foodjob Nordic is now looking on behalf of Arla Foods to recruit a strong Science Director reporting to the Senior Vice President for Product and Innovation. You will be part of the leadership team at the Arla Innovation Centre and be sparring partner for senior stakeholder in commercial areas, supply chain and within innovation. Based on the Future26 strategy and the global innovation strategy, it will be your responsibility to develop a long and short term research strategy for Arla Foods globally.

In short, your responsibility will be to:

• Define and execute our Research strategy in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Secure competence and capability building together with the leadership team in Science - including identify and develop new technologies to create future competitive advantages (technology push).
• Deliver research projects according to plans together with relevant internal and external partners, and secure a successfully hand-over to the business.
• Identify and build strong relations to global research hubs, universities and researchers.
• Secure the Science business plan is aligned with Product & Innovation plans - short and long term – and secure IP rights when relevant.
• Create an innovative culture and strong engagement.

Who are you?
You have documented, successful experience from a similar position within a food producing, international company. You have been part of or have defined a research strategy and know what’s important to be able to execute it as well. You are a strong people manager and as a true relationship builder, you are capable of balancing networking with a clear focus on execution and progression on our research agendas and projects. You are used to collaborate with universities, other researchers and research hubs and can hopefully add new network to Arla Foods. You easily navigate in a professional environment, collaborating across different functional areas and are driven by creating results.

Additionally you:

• Are able to translate science into business
• Have strong presentation skills and can communicate to different audiences.
• Have excellence English skills written and spoken.
