Monitoring Infrastructure Specialist

Come join our Operations team, where monitoring is one of our main responsibilities. We are currently working on a new monitoring setup and if you join us, you will play a big part in this project and its implementation. The position requires a solid experience working with monitoring systems, preferably in large IT environments.

About the position:

You will be responsible for our centralized monitoring infrastructure, ensuring that it is running and making sure that everything is working as expected. We are working with Microsoft SCOM and Zabbix. Your primary tasks will consist of, but are not limited to patching, scripting, configuration, maintenance, reporting, design, and new installation of our monitoring environment. You will also provide input for capacity planning, improvement and where to expand our monitoring service.

Your responsibilities:

• Handle our monitoring infrastructure on our centralized Microsoft SCOM infrastructure, with management and gateway servers, and on Zabbix
• Take part in design of our monitoring infrastructure
• Provide input for capacity planning
• Provide input on how to evolve the monitoring as a service
• Assist our consultants and other team members with configuration and customization of monitoring, both centralized and customer based
• Provide feedback on thresholds and settings to improve monitoring
• RFC work: planning, creation, CAB participation and finally execution of the change when approved
• Assist colleagues with case work and other ad-hoc task.

About the team:

The operations team are 6 specialists, responsible for all centralized systems or services. E.g., Datacenters, Compute, Storage, Hypervisors, Monitoring- and Backup Services.

Required skills:

• Have solid experience working with monitoring systems is a must, preferably in large IT environments
• Experience working with Microsoft SCOM and/or Zabbix would be your big advantage
• Microsoft Certified knowledge on Server environments is your advantage, but not a must
• Script experience to be able to customize our monitoring and provide specialized monitoring to fulfill our customers’ needs
• Be fluent in English, both spoken and written, as our communication language is English
• Proactive approach, mindset of improving and willingness to learn
• Knowledge working according to ITIL framework would be your big advantage
