And do you have the entrepreneurial mindset to build a back office function together with our Head of Brazil Power Trading and back office experts in Denmark? Right now, we are looking for a colleague to support the build-up of our operations on the journey to setting up an energy trading desk in São Paulo.Danske Commodities in BrazilDanske Commodities (DC) is an European energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 15,000 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. Danske Commodities is a wholly-owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under its own name and brand.

In DC Brazil, we will handle all power trading related to Equinor’s activities in Brazil. We are right now building the necessary capabilities and systems to enable an efficient and profitable power trading desk in Brazil as well as being the route-to-market for Equinor’s renewables assets.

Back office specialist Together with our Head of Brazil Power Trading, you will play an important role in setting the dream team and building the setup for our São Paulo office. Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the business case and the project plan. Together with the Head of Brazil Power Trading and the project team in Denmark, you will be responsible for building the back office processes of the trading desk, engaging with relevant stakeholders across DC and Equinor. On the longer term, you will be responsible for obligations related to trading activities with the Brazilian market operator (CCEE) and counterparties, as well as support front office and risk teams by providing relevant insights to internal reports to support decision making.

Responsibilities


Setting up the trading desk

  • set up the right processes, tools and systems in collaboration with the project team in Denmark to establish the trading desk
  • gain a thorough understanding of the Brazilian energy market and regulatory processes for products to be traded by DC Brazil

Once the trading desk is operational

  • handle registration, adjustments and validation of contracts on CliqCCEE
  • check and control commercial terms on contracts, and monitor signatures flow, invoices and payments of counterparties
  • assist the commercial team with the onboarding process of new counterparties as well as credit and KYC (know your customer) management with internal stakeholders
  • generate and submit position and P&L reports together with Risk team
  • Check and control discount of incentivised power (RETUSD/RETUST)


Qualifications


We expect that you:

  • have a minimum of two years’ experience working in the energy industry
  • are fluent in English and Portuguese – both written and verbal
  • have the ability to work with CCEE tools, such as CliqCCEE, DRI, SCDE

  • are proactive by nature and have the ability to drive things forward – you will have the responsibility for a wide range of tasks that require you to take initiative and follow up
  • are well-structured and quality conscious as we work with business-critical systems
