Extended Reality Program Manager – Semiconductor Divisions
Due to rapid industry growth and accelerated digitalization strategies, a new Extended Reality (XR) Programme Manager role has been created within the Semiconductor Service Division at Edwards. Edwards is a market leader in the growing Semiconductor sector, and forms part of the Vacuum Technique Area of the Atlas Copco Group. This key role will work as part of the digital team, who provide digital solutions to the Semiconductor business divisions.
This Global role will work across 3 Semiconductor Divisions, and will provide subject matter expertise and direction for XR solutions to global leaders, and will be responsible for building the required organization and operational procedures to enable delivery of the agreed extended reality solutions.
If you have proven programme management skills in delivering extended reality solutions, have experience and knowledge of change management and implementation in large global matrix organisations with excellent communicaiton skills, then this we would love to hear from you.
This is a great opportunity to join Edwards in a time of growth, reporting into the Digitalization Manager, Semiconductor Divisions. This role is flexible and can be based from the Vacuum Technique head office in Burgess Hill, UK, or from our Global locations or homebased. There may be some travel between Edwards and customer sites.

Main Responsibilities and Scope
- Lead the extended reality (XR) program for the Semiconductor Divisions (AVI, VSS & VSC)
- Identify and develop the extended reality concepts and solutions that enable the Semiconductor Divisions Strategy and drive customer benefit
- Develop concepts for Extended Reality (XR) solutions including but not limited to user experience, virtual design, product simulation, interactive training, conferencing, and marketing that will catapult the Semiconductor Divisions Strategy
- Review solutions and agree the delivery roadmap with senior stakeholders across the 3 Semiconductor Business Divisions and central functions. Implement the immersive XR solutions using state of the art spatial design and interaction principles to deliver engaging and intuitive XR experiences.
- Create the extended reality roadmap for the 3 divisions and work with the organization to define and prioritize changes required to enable delivery
- Optimize the use of and streamline the processes for implementing XR solutions across the Semiconductor Divisions.
- Productionize the supply chain of digital models for extended reality and other digital solutions to enable fast and digitally secure production.
- Deliver the operational model and business processes to enable the solutions
- Develop the organizational structure to enable delivery of the concepts and solutions
- Execute the solutions and measure their success
- Actively engage, as a cross-functional member, with IT (Information Technology) teams, other divisions and enabling functions responsible for or impacted by the delivery of solutions to articulate the strategy and direction and gain consensus
- Define business justifications for XR reality investments and build KPI’s that show the return on investment
- Be accountable on behalf of the Semiconductor Divisions for successful realization of extended reality solutions that enable the divisional strategies and drive customer benefit
Education and experience
- Degree level qualification in Business / Engineering / Science or Computer Science
- Proven program management skills in delivering extended reality solutions
- Experience and knowledge of change management and implementation in large global matrix organisations
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and effectively influence stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated and resilient
- Understanding and expertise in extended reality technologies, platforms, and developments and how they can benefit multi-functional business areas
- Strong project management skills and knowledge of Agile development or experience working in an Agile / scrum framework. Experience of managing a broad portfolio of projects
- Ability to develop and execute a variety of project types including large-scale CAPEX projects, including building of financial models and business cases
- Excellent supplier relationship and management skills
- Focused on continuous self-development and team development
- Curious and inquisitive mindset and open to challenge current thinking as there is always a ‘better way’
- Flexible working pattern to facilitate collaboration with global teams
