Right now, we are looking for a colleague to support the build-up of our price and risk models as we set up an energy trading desk in São Paulo.Danske Commodities in BrazilDanske Commodities (DC) is currently building a trading desk in Brazil, and we are looking for the next colleague to join this journey and make a real difference. In DC Brazil, we will handle all power trading related to Equinor’s activities in Brazil. We are right now building the necessary capabilities and systems to enable an efficient and profitable power trading desk in Brazil as well as being the route-to-market for Equinor’s renewables assets.
Play a vital role in building price, risk and model setup for Brazilian energy marketsTogether with our Head of Brazil Power Trading, you will play an important role in setting the dream team and building the setup for our São Paulo office. Together with the Head of Brazil Power Trading and the project team in Denmark, you will be responsible for building the middle office models of the trading desk, engaging with relevant stakeholders across Equinor and DC, such as our experienced Risk Management and Meteorology teams, to establish proper trading models to handle Equinor’s renewables portfolio and DC’s power trading activities in Brazil.
Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the business case and the project plan. Once you have gained a thorough understanding of the energy trading models, you will play a vital role in establishing tools and risk parameters in collaboration with the project to establish the trading desk. On the longer term, you will be responsible for running our price models and following the regulatory agenda in Brazil to produce reports and scenarios directly influencing our trading strategies.

Responsibilities
Setting up the trading desk
- set up the right tools and risk parameters in collaboration with the project team in Denmark to establish the trading desk
- gain a thorough understanding of the Brazilian energy market models and regulation for products to be traded by DC Brazil
Once the trading desk is operational, you will
- elaborate price and risk scenarios to support trading strategies
- prepare reports for stakeholders analysing hydrology, meteorology and PLD projections
- follow regulatory discussions and forecast impacts on prices
- assist with the definition of seasonal strategy and risk mitigation of the renewables portfolio
- support Equinor’s commercial strategy for gas through simulations of mid-term power prices
Qualifications
We expect that you:
- have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a similar role in the energy industry
- possess coding knowledge and the ability to work with data mining and reporting
- have experience working with Newave, Decomp, Dessem systems
- are proficient in English and Portuguese, both written and verbal
