Microsoft Engineer

Colleagues in the Microsoft team are looking for a new team member who will provide technical and operational support across several platforms and services and will contribute to the future expansion of those services. This role is both 3rd level Microsoft Administration and with focus on PowerShell scripting & Automation.

In this role, you will be responsible for provisioning, configuration, operation, maintenance, and occasional patching of systems. You will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Your role will be to ensure that operating system, software systems, and related procedures comply with internal and external standards and security requirements.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Drive for constantly improving the functionality, usability, reliability, performance and supportability of our software products
• Manage your own priorities and performance to deliver high quality, highly performant solutions to our customers
• Identify the root cause of issues and, where appropriate, advise on suitable solutions or resolve as required through automation
• Define and participate in processes that enable the team to work with greater agility, release rapidly across different versions and platforms, and deliver at a high quality
• Performance troubleshooting
• Contribution in creating functional design based on technical complexity of solutions, occasionally developing POC's to determine feasibility and complexity of technical options
• You will lead by example on continuous improvement of our services & way of working
• Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology as part of a wider team.
• Work closely with other team members to plan, design, implement, test and deliver new features and experiences
• Troubleshooting automated processes or tools when errors occur
• Continuous evaluation on the Deployment process for Window Servers
• Keep up to date with advancements in technologies
• Ability to occasionally work on evenings, overnight, and weekends
• On request participate in On-Duty

Our requirements:

• Ability to interact with customers in a clear, concise, professional manner
• Good analytical and Communication/Interaction skill
• Demonstrable experience working with PowerShell
• Experience of Windows Server administration.
• Experience with various versions of Microsoft Windows Server
• Experience with Active Directory, GPO, DNS, IIS, SSL, troubleshooting
• Knowledge of networking principles
• Familiar with OS monitoring tools
• Fluent English, both spoken and written
