Who are my colleagues?
You will join our Pharma or Automation Advanced teams in Denmark or Sweden depending of your location. We have expertise in process and hygiene design, instrumentation, automation, industrial IT and validation according to GMP and GAMP. We engineer and construct effective, safe, and environmentally friendly production and manufacturing plants together with our clients within Pharma, biotechnology and MedTech.

Further in our Automation Advanced teams we work with the integration of industrial automation and production systems, and we are specialists in industrial IT, electrical engineering, process design, QA and project management. We take special pride in being able to offer turn-key solutions to our clients where we provide engineering services as well as delivery of equipment, assembly, installation, commissioning, training, and documentation.

What will my job look like?
We are looking for 5 or more Trainee Automation engineer with focus on ABB’s DCS platform 800xA. We are seeking new talents eager to become skilled Automation Engineers.

The position is a trainee position for 9 months starting end September 2022 and finishing end June 2023. After the trainee period is finished the position will be transferred to an ordinary employment as “Automation engineer” at one of AFRY´s highly skilled Automation sections in Denmark or Sweden. The primary working locations are Copenhagen, Kalundborg, Karlstad, Gothenburg, Varberg and Malmö depending on your geographical location.

The trainee period will focus on learning the platform ABB 800xA and getting acquainted with various industry segment applications e.g., pharmaceuticals, water & wastewater, and process industry. The trainee period will include basic training on the platform. After completed basic training the trainees will do 3 sessions of internship. These sessions will be held at offices in Denmark and Sweden. Each session has a duration of approximately 10 weeks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has a solid technical education e.g., B.Sc. in electrical engineering, automation or chemistry and an interest to work with programming of large and complex automation systems
  
• are at the beginning of your engineering career and now look forward to developing and using your theoretical training practically
  
• has excellent skills in English as well as one Scandinavian language and a driver's license - all required
  
• The projects typically include phases with on-site work at the customer’s site. These phases often include some long working days and periods of being away from home for one or several weeks. Hence, we look for candidates who find this challenging and fun
  
• are curious, willing to learn and have a burning eager to start your career as an Automation Engineer.

Practical information
The ambition is that the trainee group will include persons from both Denmark and Sweden and from several of the offices mentioned above.

During the internship period the candidates will work at three different AFRY offices. The most probable locations are Copenhagen, Kalundborg, Karlstad, Gothenburg, Varberg and Malmö,

The candidates will receive ordinary payment during the trainee period.

AFRY will also reimburse travel expenses for all travel to training classes and internship work during the trainee period. This also includes trips to home every 2nd week.

AFRY will also pay daily allowance and travel time compensation.

The basic training in ABB 800xA systems will be held in Västerås (Sweden) in week 39, 40, 41 and 43. The training will be held in English and/or Swedish depend on the groups wishes.
