Opportunity
As a technical leadership team, you will serve as a liaison to the larger Maersk Engineering community. The ideal candidate is one who has successfully led the development and delivery of complex products at scale; is passionate and knows how to get results; is driven to create and build; is operationally credible; possess a relentless focus on the customer; and can effectively build, inspire and lead teams.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide communications multi-directionally for the program: upstream to leadership, downstream to engineering teams, and horizontally across programs. This ensures engineering, product, and (in some cases) customers are aware of risks, issues, progress, escalations, and insights into metrics or data.
· Act as a strategic business leader and technical program manager partnering directly with internal and external senior leaders to effectively lead the shaping, capture, and delivery of multi-million-dollar programs
· Develop portfolio/program structure for a large, multi program delivery, and prioritization and portfolio-level governance and reporting
· With multiple programs in flight simultaneously, the candidate use strong program management skills, influencing capacity, strategic thinking and an ability to bring efficiencies, identify duplicate efforts, articulate risks and status.
· The ability to “tell the story” and communicate value propositions to engineering teams as well as needs or roadblock details from engineering teams to leaders. This also requires a deep understanding of the product and requirements.
· Dependency management and securing commitments from all concerned teams
· Finding efficiencies within the org to increase value, reduce waste and improve process.
· Drive change management initiatives by communicating and ensuring others are on board
· Driving expansion plans for implementation of new capabilities
· Bring innovative thinking regarding technical management, software delivery, system solutioning, and business management.
· Lead large-scale program or portfolio level processes, focusing on continuous improvement and optimizing productivity of teams.
· Partner with business to achieve transformation outcomes by guiding teams on leveraging agile methods for engineering transformation, digital strategy, computational design, service design, new product innovation, and other digital business transformation initiatives
· Ensure program and/or portfolio success by defining the most suitable methods for engagement delivery
· Focus on delivering value to end customers early and often. Guide the team on product engineering and ensure evidence-based continuous improvement of value, flow, and quality
· Ensure PM rigor and consistency in documentation, delivery, and communication.
· Establish strong business relationships with key stakeholders, bringing a consultative approach, and sharing information around best practices and market trends to help drive stakeholder decision-making.
Qualifications:
. 12+ years of technical program management experience
· Deep knowledge of the various layers of a high-performance ecommerce technology stack
· Work with teams through fast paced development cycles; committed to automation, agile, lean-startup, continuous delivery approach
· Able to work across organizational boundaries and matrixed reporting structures
· Ability to fully understand business goals and metrics, turn data into insights, and translate requirements into actionable analysis
· Able to present and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by excellent written and oral communication
· Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical thought-leadership
· Inspiring and approachable as a leader; Ability to motivate and inspire team to overcome challenges and focus on problem-solving
· Be humble and lead with open, candid relationships
· Natural bar-raiser: curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more, which you use to understand basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth
· Bias to action, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast-moving environment
· Respond effectively to complex and ambiguous problems and situations
· Lead mostly with questions rather than opinions, thriving on the opportunity to own, innovate, create, and constantly re-evaluate
· Comfortable making recommendations across competing and equally critical business needs
· Simplify, clearly and succinctly convey complex information and ideas to individuals at all levels of the organization
· Motivated by goal achievement and continuous improvement, with the enthusiasm and drive to motivate your team and the wider organization
· Provide transparency and visibility on the team's activity/progress using shared tools and reports
