What you will do

At Johnson Controls in Aarhus, Denmark, we are now looking for a Plant Manager to join our JCI team in Holme, Denmark. The plant has approx. 300+ employees and manufactures a variety of products including compressors, chiller units and heat pumps.

Job Purpose & Scope

Plant Manager is responsible for managing the plant/building/site in line with the strategic and annual profit plans and corporate regulations and guidelines.

Plant Manager is responsible creating the overall profit, investment and personnel plans for the site and for leading the operations management team and for running the Plant in the most cost effective manner by doing frequent performance reviews and defining headlines for improvement plans.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the operations team; provide guidance/leadership, etc.
• Create profit plan including budgets, personnel and investment plans
• Assure that all corporate guidelines and procedures, in particular quality, Kaizen, JCMS, Six Sigma, VA/VE (Value Management) are adhered to
• Assure a timely cost efficient and high quality production in keeping with the technology level
• Procure, construct and maintain buildings, machinery and equipment necessary for plan execution
• Control deviations from the planned “actual” values and introducing corrective measures
• In addition to the above mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.
• Recruits, hires, and retains operational staff. Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports teaming with the appropriate matrix functional manager. Ensures a consistent level of coaching.

• Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental
• Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls
• Report all accidents, occupational illnesses and emergencies

Quality

• Ownership of all function related quality issues

Essential experience/qualifications

• Responsible for up to 300 employee’s approx., budget responsible and responsible for one location/country
• Engineering or Engineering Technology degree
• 10 years’ experience in operations management
• Experience in manufacturing technology, engineering and product quality
